    摘要: A welding apparatus that welds a third conductor to a first conductor includes a clamp and a laser irradiation apparatus, the third conductor being adjacent to the first conductor between the first conductor and a second conductor extending in parallel to each other. The clamp is configured to sandwich the first conductor and the third conductor between a first gripper and a second gripper. The laser irradiation apparatus is configured to emit a welding laser towards the third conductor. The first gripper includes a confronting portion facing a contact surface that comes into contact with the first conductor. In a state where the clamp sandwiches the first conductor and the third conductor, the confronting portion and the second gripper are positioned so as to block a reflection laser of the welding laser reflected in a given range of the third conductor.

    摘要: A method of laser welding a workpiece stack-up (10) that includes at least two overlapping aluminum workpieces (12, 14) comprises advancing a laser beam (24) relative to a plane of a top surface (20) of the workpiece stack-up (10) and along a spot weld travel pattern (74) that includes one or more nonlinear inner weld paths and an outer peripheral weld path that surrounds the one or more nonlinear inner weld paths. Such advancement of the laser beam (24) along the spot weld travel pattern (74) translates a keyhole (78) and a surrounding molten aluminum weld pool (76) along a corresponding route relative to the top surface (20) of the workpiece stack-up (10). Advancing the laser beam (24) along the spot weld travel pattern (74) forms a weld joint (72), which includes resolidified composite aluminum workpiece material derived from each of the aluminum workpieces (12, 14) penetrated by the surrounding molten aluminum weld pool (76), that fusion welds the aluminum workpieces (12, 14) together.

    摘要: In a laser machining machine (1) for laser welding of workpieces, in particular for lap welding of DBC structures, comprising a laser beam generator for generating a laser beam and an optical imaging system for imaging the laser beam into a machining plane, according to the invention, the optical imaging system comprises an optical beam-shaping system, which images the laser beam in the machining plane with an imaging depth (Δd) of at least ±2 mm, preferably of at least ±5 mm, in such a way that the radial power density distribution (Pr) of the laser beam is bell-shaped along the imaging depth (Δd) in each plane at right angles to the beam axis and the maximum values (Pmax) of these bell-shaped power density distributions (Pr) along the imaging depth (Δd) vary in relation to one another by less than 10%, preferably by less than 5%.
