摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods and systems for reporting and compiling connection failures in wireless communication systems. In an embodiment, when an access terminal experiences a connection failure (e.g., an unintended one), the access terminal may generate a connection failure record associated with the event, and send a message containing the connection failure record to an access network it has since established the connection. The access network may send a message containing a connection failure report acknowledgement (ACK) message to the access terminal, upon reception of the connection failure report message. The network operators may use the connection failure records thus compiled to identify problematic spots in the system and improve the quality of service.

摘要: To access a first communication system, a terminal determines a transmission time for an access probe, an expected response time from the system, and a protected time interval based on the transmission time and/or expected response time. The terminal determines a starting time for sending the access probe such that the protected time interval does not overlap a tune-away interval in which the terminal is to monitor anther frequency/air-interface. This starting time may be set initially to the end of a prior access probe plus a pseudo-random wait duration and may be advanced forward or moved backward in time, if needed, by a time duration selected such that the protected time interval does not overlap the tune-away interval.

摘要: The present invention includes a method of electronically designing an article, including accessing an electronic article design system, selecting an article type to design, and iteratively configuring a group of characteristics by selecting one or more options for each characteristic and/or iteratively modeling the article performance based on a selection of one or more performance parameters for each performance model. In the iterative configuration and modeling step, the electronic article design system automatically presents the characteristics and the performance models based on the article type selected, dynamically updates the article for each step of the iterative configuration and/or modeled performance, and automatically resolves conflicts between iteratively configured characteristics, between iteratively modeled performances, and across iteratively configured characteristics and modeled performances.

摘要: A system and method of conducting wireless communications between a wireless communication device (WCD) and both a first network (e.g., IS-2000) supporting voice and data services and a second network (e.g., IS-856) supporting packet data services. The method comprises providing the WCD with a primary transceiver and a secondary receiver for conducting wireless communications in a spatial diversity for the second network traffic or broadcast; disabling the secondary receiver and spatial diversity before a paging slot or 1x system acquisition and synchronization attempts; tuning the secondary receiver to a first network carrier frequency to perform first network activities; and retuning the secondary receiver to a second network carrier frequency for spatial diversity after performing the first network activities. The first network activities may include pilot set maintenance, overhead message maintenance, page match detection, or 1x system acquisition and synchronization attempts.

摘要: A method for providing access by secondary stations (12, 14, 16) to a shared transmission medium, maintains a list of secondary stations (12, 14, 16). A poll is transmitted poll by a primary station (10) to one of the secondary stations (12, 14, 16). The secondary station (12, 14, 16) waits for a poll, examines the transmission allocation, determines if there is congestion and transmits, along with the data in response to the poll, information regarding congestion. A system for providing such access includes a primary station (10) and a plurality of secondary stations (12, 14, 16). The primary station includes a polling controller (30), a receiver (32), a transmitter (34), a summer (36), a secondary station poll list database (38) and a data traffic controller (40).

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for maximizing throughput of a data call in a wireless communication system in which data is transmitted from a wireless station, such as a mobile station, on multiple assigned channels in accordance with a known transmission standard, such as IS-95B. The multiple assigned channels include a fundamental channel and at least one supplemental channel. Data is formatted into variable rate data frames and transmitted on the fundamental channel and the supplemental channel. A wireless receiver, such as a base station, receives the multiple assigned channels. The wireless receiver demodulates and decodes data frames associated with each of the multiple assigned channels. The wireless receiver determines a likely initial data rate for each demodulated and decode data frame. The wireless receiver correlates all of the likely data rates, by comparison to one another and to a relevant transmission protocol standard, to determine a maximum likelihood combination of data rates. The maximum likelihood combination of data rates includes a maximum likelihood data rate corresponding to each likely data rate. Decoded data frames are invalidated and erased when the likely data frame rates do not match corresponding maximum likelihood data rates.
