    摘要: An apparatus for generating timing pulses which includes a first flexible member having a plurality of spaced marks thereon, with the first flexible member being rotatably mounted. The apparatus further includes a second flexible member, positioned substantially adjacent the first flexible member, which has a plurality of spaced marks thereon, with the spaced marks of the second flexible member formed complementary to at least a portion of the spaced marks of the first flexible member, and with the second flexible member being mounted in a stationary manner. Moreover, the apparatus includes means for detecting when the spaced marks of the second flexible member are positioned substantially complementary to the portion of the spaced marks of the first flexible member and generating a timing pulse output in response thereto.

    摘要: An apparatus in which a powder pattern formed on a sheet of support material is permanently affixed thereto. The sheet of support material is advanced along a path of movement by a conveyor belt. As the sheet advances, the powder pattern thereon is heated. The belt is extended when positioned in the drive system to form a normal force therebetween. This normal force and associate coefficient of friction develops a frictional force minimizing relative movement or slippage therebetween.

    摘要: A method of fabricating a cylindrical device comprising having at least one distinct outer layer comprising providing a preformed rigid cylindrical support drum having a predetermined outer circumference, a first end and a second end, providing a flexible belt having an inner circumference at least about 0.05 percent smaller than the outer circumference of the support drum, circumferentially expanding the belt with a flowing fluid under pressure until the circumference of the inner surface of the belt adjacent the first end is stretched to a new dimension at least about 0.1 percent greater than the outer circumference of the support drum while maintaining an elongation strain less than the elastic limit of the belt, sliding the belt onto the support drum from the first end toward the second end of the support drum until substantially all of the belt encircles the outer surface of the support drum and terminating the flow of the flowing liquid to allow the belt to contract onto the outer surface of the support drum. The fluid may either be a gas or a liquid. The cylindrical device fabricated by this process is preferably an electrostatographic imaging member. This electrostatographic imaging member may be utilized in an electrostatographic imaging process.

    摘要: An improvement for a container disposed in a printing machine is disclosed. The container is adapted to dispense toner and capable of maintaining a quantity of toner therein. The improvement includes a sensor for sensing that the quantity of toner in the container is less than or equal to a predetermined quantity. The sensor is located in and isolated from the container by an isolating arrangement, the isolating arrangement preventing forces applied to the container from being transmitted to the sensor. In the preferred embodiment, the isolating arrangement includes a mechanism for damping movement of the sensor with respect to the container to decouple substantially the sensor from the container.
