摘要: A receiver (300) includes a mixing digital-to-analog converter (DAC) (118A), a direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS) (132) and a dynamic element matching (DEM) circuit (304). A DAC of the mixing DAC (118A) is implemented as a segmented DAC having a thermometer encoded DAC section (120A) and a binary encoded DAC section (120B). The DDFS (132) includes outputs configured to provide bits associated with a digital LO signal to inputs of a switching section (124A: 124B) of the mixing DAC (118A). The DEM circuit (304) is coupled between the outputs of the DDFS (132) and the inputs of the switching section (124A) that are associated with the thermometer encoded DAC section (120A). The DEM circuit (304) is configured to scramble the bits provided to the thermometer encoded DAC section (120A).

摘要: Disclosed herein are methods of delaying the onset or treating diabetes that comprises administering a uric acid lowering agent. The inventors have made the remarkable discovery that elevated uric acid levels are not a corollary to insulin resistance, but rather a primary mediator of insulin resistance. Specifically exemplified are methods that involve administering to a patient susceptible to development of diabetes a composition comprising a uric acid lowering agent in a regimen that maintains serum uric acid levels below at least 5.5 mg/dl, or below at least 5.2 mg/dl.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed permitting a sender to send a secret and secure message to a recipient. An application on a sender device interfaces with known message generating tools to permit a user to generate a message. The local application encrypts the message (and optional attachments) based on public/private key pairing negotiated with the server given the recipient device id. The sender device transmits the cipher text to the server. The server generates a benign, text-based, context-appropriate message and delivers same to a recipient device by way of a known messaging service. The benign message provides a secret clue to the recipient that an encrypted message is available. Recipient may then access and decrypt the encrypted message, such as from the server in response to a successful challenge (e.g., password request).
