    摘要: A plasma display panel having a plurality of surface discharge electrode pairs formed in a column direction at predetermined intervals, each surface discharge electrode pair having a pair of sustaining electrodes extending in a row direction so that a discharge gap is put between the sustaining electrodes. Each sustaining electrode is made up of a transparent conductive thin film, is provided with a main electrode portion formed in stripe shapes so as to face the discharge gap and a metal film of which a width is narrower than a width of the main electrode portion, and a sub-electrode portion formed at a side opposite to the discharge gap side of the main electrode portion which corresponds. With this configuration, a high image quality and a low power consumption can be obtained.

    摘要: A PDP (plasma display panel) and a plasma display device are provided which are capable of improving a light-emitting characteristic and of realizing high image quality by incorporating a discharge electrode using a low-resistance conductive material. In the above PDP, connecting electrode portions each being arranged in the vicinity of a transparent conductive portion of a scanning electrode and a transparent conductive portion of a sustaining electrode, where sustaining discharge is made to occur for displaying of images, have a slender-line shape and their film thickness being comparatively small in order to decrease a light-shielding rate and low-resistance conductive portions each being arranged in a portion being comparatively far from each of transparent conductive portions have their film thickness being comparatively large in order to lower wiring resistance.

    摘要: A plasma display panel (PDP), in which a high quality image is displayed by making its luminance and its luminance efficacy high and also its power consumption is reduced, is provided. The plasma display panel provides a group of plural pairs of sustaining electrodes covered with a dielectric layer on a first glass substrate by placing a discharge gap between the pair of sustaining electrodes, and a gas being filled up between the first glass substrate and a second glass substrate facing the first glass substrate. And an image is displayed on the PDP by irradiating ultraviolet light, which is obtained by making the group of plural pairs of the sustaining electrodes on the first glass substrate discharge by applying voltages to the group of plural pairs of the sustaining electrodes, on a fluorescent material. And a sustaining electrode in the pair of sustaining electrodes disposed on the nearly flat surface of the first glass substrate provides a discharge gap region electrode, a main surface discharge electrode, and an aperture disposed between the discharge gap region electrode and the main surface discharge electrode. And the main surface discharge electrode is composed of plural fine patterned wires and/or opening parts where electrodes are not formed.
