    摘要: In the present invention, an intermediate member having a hardness different than that of a pivot is provided. According to this structure, the pivot is in contact with the intermediate member, and rubs the intermediate member to control the sliding of the pivot. Since the intermediate member has a different hardness than the pivot, these elements can better bear the acceleration of a head suspension in high speed operation.     摘要: A head supporting mechanism including a loading beam, a flexure and a head slider. The loading beam has a proximal portion, a distal portion and an intermediate portion defined between the proximal portion and the distal portion while at least partially overlapping with the head slider. A width of the intermediate portion is smaller than those of the head slider and the flexure. Accordingly, the flexure is exposed on opposite sides of the intermediate portion of the loading beam. When the head slider is attached to the flexure after the flexure has been mounted to the loading beam, a jig is disposed while bridging the intermediate portion of the loading beam to press the exposed part of the flexure. The distal portion and the intermediate portion have the same width and the same cross-sectional shape.

    摘要: A medium-opposed surface of a slider body is hemisected into first and second areas by the centerline extending in the longitudinal direction of the slider body. The second area is designed to generate a positive pressure larger than that generated at the first area when a load acting on the slider body in a direction toward a recording medium decreases. The head slider of the type is allowed to enjoy the imbalance of the lift on the slider body. This imbalance can be utilized to intentionally induce increases in the roll angle and the pitch angle of the slider body. The increase in the roll and pitch angles causes disappearance of the lift and the negative pressure generated at the medium-opposed surface. The head slider can reliably be distanced from the moving surface of the recording medium solely with the assistance of the airflow acting on the medium-opposed surface.

    摘要: Connecting pieces extend outward from the support plate in the opposite directions along a crossline. A flexure body is connected to the connecting pieces. A pad is fixed to the support plate at a position ahead of the crossline. A wiring pattern extends from a pad. The wiring pattern defines a first straight portion extending forward from the flexure body along a first straight line. A second straight portion extends along a second straight line intersecting with the first straight line. A curved portion connects the first straight portion to the second straight portion. The curved portion expands outward from at least one of the first and second straight lines. The support plate merely suffers from a bending at a position ahead of the imaginary crossline even if the solder generates a stress based on its shrinkage. The wiring pattern serves to absorb the stress.
