摘要： An image forming apparatus, such as a copying machine, has a fixing device for fixing a developer image transferred to a transfer medium, such as paper, with a fixing roller whose surface is coated with a release agent, such as oil, and includes at least one feed passage member for conveying, while contacting, a transfer medium to a transfer region of the apparatus. The feed passage member has a release agent absorbing layer on the surface thereof, and is thus advantageous for preventing release agent from being transferred and adhered to a photo-sensitive drum of the apparatus. The release agent absorbing layer of the feed passage member may contain either porous particles or particles and a binder resin, and be formed on another layer for retaining release agent absorbed by the release agent absorbing layer. The feed passage member preferably constitutes a transfer medium carrying member, which may include a dielectric sheet, for supporting and carrying a transfer medium. The member may alternatively constitute a pick-up roller, a feed guide, and/or a resist roller of the apparatus.

摘要： A color-mixing fixing device includes a first fixing rotary member, and a second fixing rotary member for forming a nip together with the first fixing rotary member. After toner images of a plurality of colors stacked on one surface of a recording medium are fixed by a nip, toner images of a plurality of colors stacked on the other surface of the recording medium are fixed by the nip, thereby forming full-color images on both the surfaces of the recording medium. Each of the first and second fixing rotary members has a surface rubber layer with an impact resilience of 50% or less.

The material is obtained by curing a polysiloxane mixture including at least (a) straight-chain dimethyl polysiloxane having the viscosity of 8000 poise or more at a temperature of 25.degree. C. and terminated with vinyl groups; and (b) resinous organopolysiloxane having at least two vinyl groups and having the viscosity of 10-1000 poise at the temperature of 25.degree. C. and a resin segment with at least one of a 4-functional constitutional unit and a 3-functional constitutional unit, and an oil segment with a 2-functional constitutional unit. The elastic body is used in forming an elastic roller and fixing device using an elastic roller.

In the oil coating roller having a topmost exterior layer composed of a silicone rubber layer, the silicone rubber layer contains 0 to 0.5 part by weight of an inorganic filler having a predetermined average particle diameter to 100 parts by weight of a silicone rubber, and the tensile strength of the silicone rubber layer is 1.0 MPa or more. In addition, the surface roughness (Rz) of the silicone rubber layer is 0.5 to 20 &mgr;m.

摘要： A fluorine-containing resin-coated pressure roller exhibiting excellent anti-toner soiling characteristic even at low roller temperatures is provided. The pressure roller includes a cylindrical metal substrate, and a rubber elastic layer, an adhesive layer and a fluorine-containing resin release layer disposed in this order on and successively coating the cylindrical metal substrate. The pressure roller has a surface exhibiting a micro-rubber hardness of at most 50 deg., a contact angle with water of at least 105 deg. and a ten point-average surface roughness Rz of at most 3.0 &mgr;m. The pressure roller may be suitably combined with a fixing film to provide a film heating-type fixing device suitably used in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus.
