摘要: A control system for controlling displacement of a member in a glassware forming machine. A pneumatic piston drives the member and is controlled by a computer which defines a motion profile. The difference, at any moment, between the demanded position and the actual position is determined and an error signal is defined based on the difference signal and the momentary velocity and acceleration.

摘要: An I.S. Machine for making glass bottles, having a plurality of sections, each having a blank station for forming a parison. Each section has a section frame having a top surface, and a plunger mechanism including at least one plunger canister having a lower cylinder and an upper flange. A horizontal mounting plate having a top surface and vertical openings for receiving the lower cylinder of each of the plunger canisters is fixedly secured on the top surface of the section frame. The section frame top surface has vertical openings for receiving the lower cylinders of each of the plunger canisters and the flange of the plunger mechanism is secured to the top surface of the mounting plate.

摘要: A method of adjusting the height of the takeout mechanism in a glassware forming machine comprises setting a takeout arm of the mechanism at a predetermined angle by use of a jig member adjusting a piston and cylinder device so that it is in a predetermined lowermost position when the takeout arm is so set, using a second jig member appropriate to the desired height of the takeout mechanism with respect to a set of moulds, setting the whole mechanism to the appropriate height and adjusting a scale to indicate the height to which the mechanism is set.

摘要: A plunger assembly for a glassware forming machine for use in forming parisons comprises a metal plunger with a small chamber at the nose portion of the plunger into which water is supplied when the plunger is in use, the water passing out through a pattern of small holes in the nose portion to provide a vapour barrier between the plunger and the hot glass. The plunger has an internal recess and is cooled by air supplied into the recess.
