摘要： A decorative composite non-plied frieze yarn for use in embroidering, sewing and the like. The composite yarn includes a core formed from a single plied frieze yarn having a spiral wrap of a decorative metallic yarn applied in a first rotational direction thereto and subsequently a non-metallic cover yarn spirally applied thereover in a second opposite direction. The single ply frieze core yarn itself includes a non-metallic core strand about which a first metallic strand is spirally wrapped in a first direction and subsequently about which a non-metallic cover yarn is wrapped in a second opposite rotational direction. Accordingly, the present composite frieze yarn includes three non-metallic strands and two metallic strands.

摘要： A thread-like continuous retroreflective fiber and method of making same, comprising the steps of laminating a thin film of retroreflective material to a supporting polyester film, and then slitting the laminate to form narrow strips of retroreflective material having sufficient strength to be combined with other fibers to form a composite yarn having retroreflective characteristics, which composite yarn may then be woven, knitted, or spun to provide a fabric having retroreflective characteristics.

摘要： A decorative composite novelty yarn which has use as a craft item as in making floral decorations. The composite yarn includes a core including a deformable wire strand and a plurality of textured core yarns generally in aligned contact with each other and said wire strand. A first frieze yarn is wrapped in one direction about the core and a second frieze yarn is thereafter wrapped about the core and the first frieze yarn in the opposite direction. The novelty yarn is formed on a modified spinning frame having vertically spaced spindles for rotationally wrapping the frieze cover yarns and drive means for positively feeding the wire strand.
