    摘要: Disclosed is a means for feeding unit documents, such as sheets, envelopes, pages, cards, and the like to an apparatus for processing. Means is provided for feeding the documents to and removing them from the operating apparatus at a relatively high rate of speed. During the time that an individual document is being operated upon it is conveyed by means associated with the operating apparatus. Examples of such operations would be printing addresses on an envelope, embossing credit cards, encoding magnetic tapes, and the like. Upon conclusion of the operation, the documents are removed quickly so that a second document may be supplied to the operating apparatus expeditiously.

    摘要: Disclosed is a mechanism for feeding unit documents, such as sheets, envelopes, pages, cards, and the like to an apparatus for processing.     摘要: An endless conveyor belt having a series of perforations is positioned between a vacuum outlet and a carrier having a stack of substantially flat documents. The vacuum is operated only when the perforations in the belt are positioned in front of the vacuum outlet to reduce drag on the belt. When the vacuum is operational, the belt will attract one of the documents from the stack and deliver it to a subsequent processing station. Means are provided for maintaining the documents in spaced relation from the belt when the vacuum is inoperative to preclude premature removal of a document from the stack by frictional contact of the document and the belt. A deflectable roller is also located adjacent the belt which rotates counter to the direction of travel of the belt to preclude the feeding of more than one document at a time by the belt to the subsequent processing station.

    摘要: A mass produced weight measuring system includes an optical transducer for determining the displacement of a scale load support structure with respect to a scale frame. To facilitate mass fabrication an optical transducer is produced and both gratings adjusted for alignment as a subassembly unit independent of the scale frame and load support structure; the clearance between the grating planes is set and the movable grating temporarily fixed. Nonlinearities in scale load support deflection inherent with the scale linkage and providing components other than true vertical deflection are compensated by adjustment of the grating angle from a horizontal plane. During scale assembly, the scale frame and load support structure are placed in a main fixture, a transducer subassembly unit is selected, mounted to a subfixture and the grating planes referenced to scale assembly reference planes; then the transducer body is epoxy potted relative to the frame and the movable grating potted relative to the load support structure. The movable grating is then freed for movement relative to the transducer body.
