Abstract: Embodiments herein describe an RFID reader tray which includes a receptacle for detecting RFID tags disposed on physical items. In one embodiment, a sidewall is disposed around the periphery of a bottom support structure and extends away from the bottom support structure to form the receptacle. The reader tray includes an RFID antenna disposed under the bottom support structure on which the items can be placed. The material of the bottom support structure is selected such that RFID signals emitted by the RFID antenna can radiate through the bottom support structure and reach RFID tags placed on items in the receptacle. In one embodiment, the reader tray includes a shield for reflecting the RFID signals so that the most of the RFID signals radiate through the bottom support structure and into the receptacle.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed that relate to causing indicators to present indications. Sensor data associated with a space of a fixture that includes a set of slots may be received. The sensor data may indicate that a sensor has sensed a condition of a container relative to the space. It may be determined that the condition corresponds to a slot of the set of slots based at least in part on the sensor data. Information usable to associate the container with a record may be generated. An indicator corresponding to the slot may be caused to produce an indication.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for implicitly confirming movement of an item in a materials handling facility. In one embodiment, a radio-frequency identifier (RFID) having an antenna directed at a plurality of storage locations is activated. Each of the storage locations has a corresponding RFID. A particular storage location of the plurality of storage location is determined based at least in part on an observed signal change of one of the corresponding RFIDs. An action is then initiated based at least in part on whether the particular storage location is an expected storage location.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods are described that relate to location-based indications. An apparatus may include a frame, a sensing device, and a computing device. The frame may include a first set of members spaced apart and oriented in a first direction. At least one member of the first set of members may include an indicator area. The frame may also include a second set of members spaced apart and oriented in a second direction. At least two members of the second set of members may extend between the first set of members to define a container receiving area. The sensing device may be disposed adjacent to the container receiving area and configured to detect movement of containers with respective to the container receiving area. The computing device may be communicatively coupled to the sensing device and configured to cause presentation of indicators within the indicator area.

Abstract: Techniques for providing a removable and reusable tracking device feature in an inventory management system may be described. For example, the inventory management system may associate a reusable tracking device with an item based on first identification information from the reusable tracking device and second identification information from the item in response to an inventory transfer request for the item. Instructions may be provided to attach the reusable tracking device to the item and deliver the item and the associated reusable tracking device to a user based on the inventory transfer request for the item. A notification may be generated based on a signal received from the reusable tracking device. The notification may be provided to a user device of the user and indicate that a subsequent order for the item should be placed on behalf of the user.
