Abstract: Retention mechanisms for retaining compute components within server racks are described. In one example, a retention mechanism includes a latching component configured to move between a locked position and an unlocked position. The retention mechanism also includes a retaining component configured to position the latching component in the unlocked position. Movement of the retaining component releases the latching component thereby allowing the latching component to move into the locked position.

Abstract: An expansion card mounting assembly includes a mounting structure and a circuit board coupled to the mounting structure. Expansion cards are mounted on a top side and a bottom side of the circuit board and secured at opposite ends by a moveable plate of the expansion card mounting assembly. The mounting structure includes an opening along a length of the expansion cards that allows air to flow over the expansion cards in multiple directions including a vertical direction. The moveable plate and mounting structure are configured to allow a position of the moveable plate on the mounting structure to be adjusted to mount expansion cards having different lengths in the expansion card mounting assembly.

Abstract: Latching components for retaining rack component cases within server racks are described. In one example, a latching component is installed at an interior surface of a rack component case. The latching component includes a protrusion. The latching component is biased in a locked position in which the protrusion is outside the rack component case. The latching component is moveable from the locked position to an unlocked in which the protrusion is removed from outside the rack component case using an unlatching component.

Abstract: A method for migrating a power shelf between being supplied single-phase power and three-phase power includes coupling a second power adapter to an input of a power shelf of a rack while power is being supplied to the power shelf via a first power adapter coupled to another input of the power shelf. The first power adapter includes a multi-pin connector coupled to the input and three other connectors each coupled to respective single-phase power sources and the second power adapter includes a multi-pin connector configured to couple with the other input and another connector configured to couple with a three-phase power source.
