    摘要: A vehicle seat includes a seat back having a support frame coupled to a seat foundation. The seat back also further includes a deformable seat shell adapted to assume various shapes between initial position and final positions in response to variable rearward loads applied by a seated passenger. The seat shell is coupled to the support frame by a compliant shell-motion controller via upper and lower motion-control links. The motion-control links allow pivotal motion, and at least one of the links includes a spheroidal joint. A link foundation extends between and interconnects the upper and lower motion-control links and is coupled to the support frame so that the link foundation does not move during seat shell deformation. The shell-motion controller may be pre-assembled as part of a backrest or the motion-control links may be formed after the link foundation is attached to the support frame.

    摘要: An energy absorbing system includes a hood with inner and outer panels defining a rear edge cavity, and a pair of polymeric energy absorbers in the cavity. The hood and energy absorber are tuned to minimize an HIC value when a pedestrian's head contacts the hood during an impact to absorb energy prior to the hood bottoming out on the plenum of the vehicle. The energy absorber is preferably made of a polymeric material capable of withstanding high temperatures associated with going through a paint oven or e-coat process, such as high temperature nylon. The illustrated energy absorber has a hat-shaped cross section and includes criss-crossing flanges tuned to provide an optimal force-deflection curve during impact.

    摘要: A method for detecting privacy violations of patient personal healthcare information (PHI) can include receiving audit logs from all systems within a healthcare facility. These audit logs are generated any time PHI is accessed. The Healthcare Privacy Violation Detection System (HPV-DS) compares these generate audit logs to prior access history of the employee or authorized user that generated the audit log. If any field in the generated audit log is different from the authorized user's prior access history, the risk of a privacy violation is assessed and a risk score is assigned. For audit logs that differ from past access history enough, an alert turned on and the audit log is flagged for administrators to review.
