    摘要: A game apparatus and a method using a light source, a convex mirror and an optical sensor, all disposed within a housing, are described. The housing is transparent to the range of wavelengths from the light source and is composed of a low distortion scratch-resistant material. A game board is also used along with retro-reflective elements, such as moveable playing markers or game tokens, cards or regions affixed to and integrated into the game board. A data store stores the locations of the reflective elements and other game-related data, such as data needed to measure a player's score or position in a game or data to provide guided play. The convex mirror is disposed inside the housing such that light reflects from the light source, off the convex mirror, through the housing, and onto the game board. The one or more retro-reflective elements, when placed on the game board, receive light emanated from the light source. The light received by the one or more retro-reflective elements reflects off of the convex mirror and along substantially the same path from which the light was received. The optical sensor receives light reflected from the one or more retro-reflective elements, senses increases and decreases in the intensity of the reflected light, and signals changes in the intensity of the reflected light greater than or equal to a predefined level. A processor, or computer, is responsive to signals from the sensor and the data in the data store.

The system includes an oral care device. The oral care device, such as a toothbrush, includes one or more targets. Each target designates a specific area of the toothbrush, such as back side, a front side, a brush head or a brush end. A target can be a color or a tag, and can be removably coupled or integrally formed with the toothbrush. The system also includes an application configured to detect the targets, to determine that a property of any of the targets has changed. Based on at least the determination, the application is configured to monitor progress of brushing and to control an element in the application.

Two reflectors, which may be mirrors or prisms, are positioned to separate the field of view of a camera lens on the mobile graphical device into a direct field of view and an offset field of view and to record and display the separated fields in a two-paned format on the mobile graphical device. Eye lenses are used to separately view the split images. An integrated housing and cradle receive the mobile graphical device and are coupled to the reflectors and the eye lenses. An area of each pane may be provided to display control icons for three-dimensional viewing, and a control area may be provided out of view on a touch screen for user control.

    摘要: The audio and video information is formatted for right and left stereo tracks of the CD-DA with the bit map video information being stored on one audio channel and the PCM audio being stored on the other stereo channel. The two channels are interleaved and recorded to the CD-DA in a manner similar to CD-DAs that have only audio information recorded thereon. In the preferred embodiment, a CD-DA disc of generally smaller diameter is utilized with the portable reproducing device such that a device of smaller size is realized. The portable reproducing device includes a housing with a display, one or more outputs for communicating audio information to an external device, such as a speaker, a pivoting cover providing access to a loaded CD-DA, and means control the operation of the portable reproducing device. In operation, the portable reproducing device is operable to read the time-synchronized interleaved audio and video information recorded on the CD-DA, and process a signal representative thereof in an information processor. The processor extracts the audio and video information from the interleaved stereo audio channels and provides an audio signal and video signal to respective audio and video interfaces for reproduction by a speaker and a display.

    摘要: A video game device and method are provided. The device is a cordless touch-free video game device that is plug and play. The device includes an array of light transmitters for transmitting a light signal to an object. The object can be retroreflectors that are attached to a user's feet or hands. Upon striking the objects, the transmitted signal is reflected, producing a reflected light signal. A light receiver including a detection array receives the reflected signal from the objects and the reflected signal is transformed into a second signal used to send and track motion of the objects. The motion is used by a game device that determines an activity of the user by sensing the type of user movement performed. The device is ideally suited for controlling cursor position for use with video dance games.

The sound waves are conducted by the user's teeth and bones to the user's ears, where they are perceived as sound. Sound-transmitting toothbrushes and the like are described to transmit and/or conduct sound to the user's ear, while the user is brushing his or her teeth. The toothbrush head and a signal source are configured to produce sound waves for transmission through the toothbrush head to the user's mouth, and a tension controller is configured to control the volume of the sound waves based on the pressure applied by the toothbrush head. The signal source may produce sound waves directly or with the assistance of a transducer. The signal source may be replaceable, connect to a replaceable cartridge, or connect to an adaptor capable of downloading data to allow the signal source data to be replaceable. The tension controller may include gap spacing between the transducer coil and transducer plate. The tension controller may also include a boost switch configured as a bypass switch, activation signal, or force sensor.
