Abstract:
A mobile terminal is enabled to conduct an EMV transaction. A wireless access node in the EMV card-reader terminal is provided for connecting a mobile terminal to the card-reader terminal. An EMV-proxy module executing in the card-reader terminal facilitates communication between the mobile terminal and the card-reader terminal. The EMV-proxy module lets the mobile terminal function in essentially the same way as a regular EMV chip card with respect to the card-reader terminal. The card-reader terminal may then conduct EMV transactions on behalf of the mobile terminal without requiring new software and/or hardware at the EMV issuer. EMV data is stored in the mobile terminal in the form of secure dynamic data objects. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for authorizing Internet transactions using the public land mobile network (PLMN). An association, or linking, of a mobile terminal to a transaction being made with a more traditional Internet access device such as a PC is provided using the resources of the public land mobile network (PLMN). The mobile terminal can in turn be used to provide authentication and/or authorization for the transaction. The link or coupling between the transaction documents or information sets presented on the two devices can be created by a service provider or merchant sending a WAP push message to the mobile terminal. Authentication and/or authorization can be provided using the client-side PKI capabilities of the wireless terminal, using a user ID and/or password, or through other means.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for low earth orbit satellite communications, utilizing fractionated satellites and constellations with large baselines. The latter, combined with spatial multiplexing protocols, provides access to user equipment on the ground with much greater spatial resolution than hitherto possible. Methods include overcoming the problem posed by the round-trip delay of satellite links when adaptive, downlink, beamforming is attempted in Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) systems. Methods include using of uplink and downlink pilot signals which eliminate the need for controlling the physical integrity of the fractionated satellite through an electromechanical servo-control system in space.

Abstract:
A frequency drift compensation system for a radio receiver includes a pilot signal generator that is configured to generate two pilot signals, a local oscillator that is configured to generate a local oscillator frequency signal, a first mixer that generates a first offset pilot signal, a second mixer that generates a second offset pilot signal, and a summer that is configured to add the first offset pilot signal and the second offset pilot signal to the intermediate frequency signal to obtain a composite signal. The frequency drift compensation system includes a processor that is configured to detect frequency drift in the offset pilot signal responsive to the composite signal and to generate a frequency drift control signal to compensate for the frequency drift. Related radio receivers, GPS receivers, and methods are described.
Abstract:
A method includes reducing a red rivalry through adjusting a color temperature on a first image, converting the first image from the RGB domain to a YCbCr domain, shifting a hue of a red color in the first image towards a magenta color to reduce a red color vibrancy, and adjusting a blue color in the first image such that a dark blue visible through a second lens corresponding to a second image is at least partially visible through a first lens corresponding to the first image. The method also includes reducing the red rivalry through adjusting a tone of the red color in the first image towards a brown color, converting the first image from the YCbCr domain back to the RGB domain, adjusting a color saturation in the first image, and combining the first image with the second image in a processor to generate an anaglyph image.
Abstract:
A processor for use in a satellite communications system includes a selector that is configured to select a subset of a plurality of spatially diverse satellite signals based upon a location of a radioterminal. The processor further includes a signal processor that is configured to detect a return-link transmission from the radioterminal responsive to the selected subset of the spatially diverse satellite signals. The respective spatially diverse satellite signals may include respective signals corresponding to respective antenna elements of a satellite. The selector and the signal processor may be ground based.
