Abstract:
A method of transferring printing ink from an intermediate carrier to a printing-ink receiver selected from the group consisting of a further intermediate carrier and a substrate, wherein the printing ink adheres either in a granular state or in an at least partially liquid state to the intermediate carrier includes, with respect to the first-mentioned state of the printing ink, melting the printing ink at a side thereof facing away from the intermediate carrier before transferring the printing ink to the printing-ink receiver and, with respect to the second-mentioned state of the printing ink, reducing the adhesion of the printing ink to the intermediate carrier with a separating agent at one time at least before and during transfer to the printing-ink receiver; and a device for performing the method.
Abstract:
An inking unit for printing presses, preferably offset printing presses, can have a plurality of plate-inking rollers for inking a plate cylinder along with a multiplicity of inking rollers. The inking rollers can be positioned to supply ink flow, in at least two directions to the plate-inking rollers. The inking rollers and the plate-inking rollers can then form a closed chain of rollers, and can enclose a space therebetween. A measuring device can be provided to monitor the temperature of the air within this space, with measured values being used for control of the temperature of the inking unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of generating a printing color profile for printing a printing image with a digital color printing machine, in particular a multi-color printing machine, preferably an electrophotographically operating printing machine. A transparent layer on top of a multi colorant printed image is taken into consideration during the generation of the printing color profile such that a differential clear printing color profile for the clear material effect is determined, said clear printing color profile being added, as needed, to the printing ink color profile of the remaining printing colors for defined substrate classes and specific clear material and coverage levels.

Abstract:
A holding unit for a measuring device having a base carrying an inductive charging input, and a side wall formed with openings for infrared data transmission, includes a two-step cover surface including an upper cover surface and a lower cover surface, the lower cover surface being formed with a recess having a contour corresponding to the contour of the measuring device for receiving the measuring device therein, a side wall of the holding unit partly defining the recess formed in the lower cover surface and being formed with openings for infrared data transmission coinciding with the openings for infrared data transmission formed in the side wall of the measuring device when the measuring device is received in the recess, an output for an inductive power supply disposed in a base of the recess formed in the lower cover surface, the output coinciding with the inductive charging input carried by the measuring device when the measuring device is received in the recess, the upper cover surface being formed with two substantially rectangular recesses, one of the substantially rectangular recesses having a contour corresponding to the outer contour of a printer receivable therein.
Abstract:
A process for controlling the inking of printed products, wherein an original provided with ink control fields, is subjected to a colorimetric measurement includes colorimetrically measuring diffuse-reflectance of at least one three-color screen field of the original and computing and storing a setpoint color locus therefrom spectrally measuring color-related diffuse-reflectance values and diffuse-reflectance values of a three-color screen field by measuring control fields on a printed sheet which has been produced in a set-up phase, calculating an actual color locus from the spectral diffuse reflectance of the three-color screen field, taking into account a distance between the setpoint color locus and the actual color locus, and taking into account preset inking values and machine-specific characteristic curves, calculating a theoretical actual color locus from the measured color-related diffuse-reflection values, repeatedly calculating the theoretical actual color locus, if necessary, with the respective ink deviation until the deviation is at a minimum, and basing the production run on the thus obtained inking values.

Abstract:
Method for regulating a supply of dampening solution in an offset printing press having a printing plate includes supplying at least one selected region of the printing plate with a well-defined amount of energy; determining and measuring scumming occurring in the selected region; comparing the measured scumming in the selected region with a prescribed scumming matched to the respective supplied amount of energy; and adjusting the supply of dampening solution, if the measured scumming and the prescribed scumming deviate from one another; and a device for performing the method.
