摘要: A communications system may include a data collection server (DCS) that receives contextual information from a set of UE devices. The DCS may aggregate the contextual information into a database. A given UE may proactively identify an optimal network configuration to use in communicating with a cellular network. The UE may generate local contextual information. The UE may request a set of entries from the database corresponding to a set of geographic tiles overlapping or neighboring its location. The UE may select the optimal network configuration based on its local contextual information and the requested entries. The UE may transmit a request to a base station to perform communications under the optimal network configuration using user equipment assistance information (UAI) of a radio resource control (RRC) signal. Proactive selection of the network configuration may optimize performance given the current UE operating context without requiring reactive network configuration adjustments.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a relay user equipment device (UE) assisting one or more remote UEs in performing a radio access network notification area (RNA) update procedure in a cellular communication system. The relay UE establishes a first relay connection with a first remote device. The first relay connection relays communications between the first remote device and a network. The relay UE transmits a first message to the network to initiate the RNA update procedure for the first remote device, receives an acknowledgment message from the network including updated connection information for the first remote device, and transmits the updated connection information to the first remote device.

摘要: The exemplary embodiments describe devices, systems and methods for implementing various exemplary techniques related to fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) cell search. A user equipment (UE) selects a frequency band to scan during a cell search procedure and identifies a frequency within the frequency band that is associated with a synchronization signal block (SSB) based on an indication of the frequency stored locally at the UE prior to the cell search procedure. The UE then scans the frequency for the SSB and determines that the SSB has been broadcast by a cell over the frequency.

A wireless device may establish communication with a first base station that is comprised a master cell group (MCG). The wireless device may receive signaling from the first base station configuring a second base station in a secondary cell group (SCG). The wireless device may establish communication with the second base station based on the signaling received from the first base station. At a first time, the wireless device may set the second base station in a deactivated state based on the signaling from the first base station configuring the second base station or establishing communication with the second base station. At a later time, the wireless device may set the second base station in an activated state and communicate with the first base station and the second base station.

摘要: Devices and associated methods for operating a dual-subscriber identity module (SIM) dual-standby (DSDS) user equipment device (UE) configured with a first SIM and a second SIM. The UE performs communications with a first cellular network using the first SIM and a first radio resource control (RRC) connection, and receives a request to perform a higher priority communication using the second SIM. In response to the request to perform the higher priority communication, the UE transmits a request to the first network to suspend the first RRC connection. After transmission of the request to suspend the first RRC connection, the UE receives a message from the first network to place the first RRC connection in an inactive state, and initiates a timer, wherein the timer is used to determine whether the first RRC connection remains in the inactive state or transitions to an idle state.
