Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for determining an attribute of an object at a pre-determined time point. Data representing a respective property of the object and a plurality of further objects at a plurality of time points different from the pre-determined time point are determined, and the data is arranged in an image-like data structure. The image-like data structure has a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows. The data is arranged in the image-like data structure such that each of one of the rows or the columns corresponds to respective properties of the object or of one of the plurality of further objects and each of the other of the rows or the columns corresponds to respective properties at one of the plurality of time points. The attribute is then determined using a pre-determined rule based on the image-like data structure.

Abstract: Disclosed are aspects of a method, which is carried out in a vehicle, that includes downloading over-the-air from a host system a data collection target including a data value metric that is a function assigning a data value to a piece of data at a given point in time, which represents an amount of progress towards an atomic collection target. The method also includes collecting data from data sources in the vehicle over time while the vehicle is driving and recording the collected data in a storing module. The method additionally includes computing the data values of the recording data according to the data value metric and selecting, from the recording data, recording data snippets of high value within a time window based on the computed data values. The method further includes uploading only the selected recording data snippets of high value to the host system over-the-air.

Abstract: Disclosed are aspects of a method, carried out by a vehicle data recording device, that includes downloading, from a host data collecting system, a recording target and determining a plurality of possible routes for the vehicle. The method also includes, for each route, generating a route encoding in numerical values an information on predicted values of the route for metrics, a metric being a function assigning a value representing an amount of progress in achieving an elementary recording target to a piece of data. The method additionally includes providing the route encodings and additional environmental information independent of the routes to a reinforcement learning agent that selects one of the routes to optimize a reward. The method further includes recording data from in-vehicle sources while the vehicle drives along the selected route and uploading at least part of the recording data to the host data collecting system.
