Abstract: A color converter may include (a) a polyethylene terephthalate matrix material; and (b) an organic fluorescent dye selected from a compound of formulae (I.a), (I.b), (I.c) or mixtures thereof wherein EWG1 and EWG2 are CN, CH(O), C(O)R13, OC(O)R13, COOR14, CH(COOR14)2, SO2R14, C(O)NR15R16, SO2NR15R16, or C1-C20-fluoroalkyl; R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7a, R7b, R7c, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are as defined in the claims and in the description. A backlight unit, a liquid crystal display module, and a light emitting device may include such a color converter. In compounds of formula (I.b) EWG1 and EWG2 may be CN.
