Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispersant composition comprising: a) at least one oligomeric acid A, which has i) at least one acidic group selected from COOH and PO3H2, and ii) at least one polyoxyalkylene-ether radical of the formula (I): R—(O-A)xO-G-, where A is an C2-C4-alkan-1,2-diyl radical; X is an integer having a number average value in the range from 2 to 20; and R is hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms; G is a chemical bond or a carbonyl group; and b) at least one polyamine B, which is selected from the group consisting of polyvinylamines, poly-C2-C3-alkyleneimines, modified poly-C2-C3-alkyleneimines, melamine compounds, modified melamine compounds, poly-(C2-C4-alkyleneether) amines, polyetheramine polyols, and modified polyetheramine polyols. The invention also relates to aqueous pigment compositions containing a dispersant composition as defined herein, a pigment component, selected from the group consisting of pigments and mixtures of at least one pigment and at least one filler, and an aqueous diluent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to polyalkylene imine based polymers, which have aliphatic polyester groups attached to the polyalkylenimine backbone via an carboxamide group. The novel polymers are particularly useful as dispersants for pigments, in particular as dispersants for pigments in non-aqueous compositions. The polyalkylene imine based polymers are characterized by having a) a polyalkylene imine backbone; b) at least one aromatic moiety P.1, which is bound to a nitrogen atom of the polyalkylene imine backbone via an carboxamide or carboximide group; and c) at least one aliphatic polyester moiety P.2, which is bound to a nitrogen atom of the polyalkylene imine backbone via an carboxamide group.

Abstract: Subject matter are aqueous, low-VOC/SVOC universal pigment preparations comprising a pigment component, a water-soluble, anionic, surface-active additive from the group of the homo- and copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic or dicarboxylic acids, which may further comprise, in copolymerized form, vinyl monomers containing no acid function, and of the salts of these homo- and copolymers, the homo- and copolymers being at least partly esterified with a polyether alcohol or a derivative thereof, and comprising a phosphoric or phosphonic ester, and optionally customary additives. The aqueous pigment preparations are suitable for the coloring of inks, paints, and renders, especially in metering systems at the point of sale or in in-plant tinting systems.
