    Abstract: A valve assembly for a fluid injector system includes a valve housing, a first port configured for fluid communication with a fluid injector, a second port, a third port, and a fourth port configured for fluid communication with a patient line. The valve assembly includes an air detection region associated with the first port, a fluid path length having a proximal end in fluid communication with the second port and a distal end in fluid communication with the third port, and a valve element defining a first fluid path and a second fluid path. The first fluid path provides fluid communication between the first and second ports in a delivery position of the valve housing. The second fluid path provides fluid communication between the third and fourth ports in the delivery position. The third port is isolated from the fourth port in a stop position of the valve housing.

    Abstract: A fluid injector having at least one injector head with a front end configured to releasably receive the at least one syringe is described. The fluid injector further includes at least one pressure jacket releasably associated with the front end of the at least one injector head for securing the at least one syringe during an injection procedure. A connection mechanism releasably connects the at least one pressure jacket to the front end of the at least one injector head. The connection mechanism includes at least one electromagnet.

    Abstract: A powered fluid injector including an assembly for retaining a pressure jacket and a syringe on a fluid injector is provided. The assembly includes a base plate comprising a body; a first retaining arm and a second retaining arm operatively mounted on the body of the base plate, wherein the first retaining arm have a first retaining surface and the second retaining arm having a second retaining surface. The first retaining surface and the second retaining surface abut a distal surface of at least one of the pressure jacket and the syringe. The assembly also includes a linkage assembly connected to at least one of the first retaining arm and/or the second retaining arm to move the retaining arms between at least a first open position and a closed position.
