    Abstract: A loudspeaker includes a first electro-acoustic transducer, a horn acoustically coupled to the first electro-acoustic transducer, and a first acoustic leak that is acoustically coupled to the horn. The first acoustic leak is positioned so as to reduce a peak in a frequency response of the loudspeaker at the targeted frequency without removing the targeted frequency from the output of the loudspeaker.

    Abstract: Various aspects include audio devices with a capacitive sensing interface along a compound curved wall. Some aspects of the disclosure relate to wearable audio devices with a capacitive sensing interface and a flexible printed circuit board (PCB) for detecting a touch command at the interface. In certain cases, the flexible PCB has at least one slit for conforming to the compound curve of the wall. In additional implementations, the inner surface of the wall is faceted and the flexible PCB conforms to the facets in the wall.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes a frame and a surround element that couples a diaphragm to the frame such that the diaphragm is movable in a reciprocating manner relative to the frame. The surround element includes a half-roll element having a concave apparent area and a convex apparent area. The concave and the convex apparent areas are disproportionate. Another apparatus includes a diaphragm, a frame, and a surround element that couples the diaphragm to the frame such that the diaphragm is movable in a reciprocating manner relative to the frame. The surround element includes a half-roll element having a horizontal span and a free-length. A ratio of the horizontal span to the free-length is constant throughout the half-roll element. According to another example, an apparatus includes a landing and a half-roll element adjacent the landing. The half-roll element includes an inner portion, an outer portion having a variable thickness, and a transition portion located between the inner portion and the outer portion.

    Abstract: A seat support mechanism that is adapted to constrain motion of a bottom of a seat relative to a floor as the seat bottom moves up and down relative to the floor, where the seat has a seat back, and where the seat is constructed and arranged to support an occupant thereof above the floor, wherein the seat bottom has a front edge, and wherein the seat bottom supports the occupant's thighs with the knees in front of the front edge of the seat bottom. The seat support mechanism is constructed and arranged such that as the seat bottom is moved up and down, the seat support mechanism causes the seat bottom to pivot about a virtual lateral horizontal pivot axis located farther from the front edge of the seat bottom than the occupant's knees. The seat support mechanism is further constructed and arranged such that the back of the seat remains at a relatively constant angle to the floor as the seat bottom moves up and down and pivots.

    Abstract: An active vibration isolation system for isolating a suspended platform from vibration input to the vibration isolation system base includes an exoskeleton which supports the suspended platform relative to the base. The exoskeleton includes first and second scissors mechanisms with main links of unequal length. The main links pass through a parallel condition as the suspended platform moves over its intended range of travel relative to the base. The vibration isolation system may include a rotary actuator and a drive mechanism separate from the exoskeleton for providing force output from the rotary actuator to the suspended platform. The rotary actuator may include inner and outer rotors which rotate relative to each other and may be free to rotate relative to the exoskeleton. The rotary actuator may be free to translate relative to the vibration isolation system base and the suspended platform.
