摘要: An optical pattern generator uses a rotating component that includes a number of deflection sectors containing optical elements. Each sector deflects an incident optical beam by a substantially constant angle although this angle may vary from one sector to the next. The constant deflection angle is achieved by symmetry within the deflection sector, specifically gut-ray symmetry. The rotating component may be combined with an imaging group that produces, for example, image points, spots, or lines displaced along a line locus. The image spots can also be displaced to either side of a line, for example by introducing a tilt in the orthogonal direction or by introducing light beams at various angles to the plane of symmetry.

摘要: A fruit concentrate composition is blended from a hydrolyzed starch of at least 40 D.E., preferably about 50-70 D.E., more preferably about 55-65 D.E. and a fruit concentrate having about 0% insoluble solids, the blended composition having at least about 70%, preferably about 80-95%, more preferably about 90-95% simple carbohydrates, and about 3-20%, preferably about 3-10%, more preferably about 6% complex carbohydrates, on a dry weight basis, with a resulting dual functionality in food formulations for achieving both nutritive sweetening and fat substitution as well as a number of other benefits. The composition is preferably formed by hydrolyzing a starch source to the above D.E. value, blending it with a fruit juice concentrate to form a fruit concentration composition having the above components and reducing water content of the blend to at least about 77%, preferably to about 77-80% soluble solids, the composition having substantially 0% insoluble solids. The simple carbohydrates in the composition are preferably selected from the class consisting of glucose, maltose, fructose, sucrose, lactose, sorbitol and combinations thereof, the complex carbohydrates comprising one or more dextrins, the simple carbohydrates preferably including at least one component exhibiting humectancy or hygroscopicity. Food/beverage products are formed with the composition to take advantage of its multi-functionality, the composition preferably simultaneously sweetening the products and replacing some or at least about 25% or 50% or even substantially all normal fat components in the products.

摘要: An apparatus for programming a magnetic card key associated with a magnetic locking device. The apparatus is comprised of a computer coupled to an encoder unit. A list of codes are stored on the computer system. When a user desires to encode a magnetic card key, the identification corresponding to that particular key is input to the computer. Thereupon, the computer searches for the matching code. The magnetic card key is inserted into the encoder unit. A bank of electromagnets mounted in close proximity to the inserted magnetic card key is programmed by the computer to encode the key with the proper code.

摘要: An electronic countermeasure (ECM) simulator which fits into the housing of any actual ECM payload device and substitutes electrical components for the chaff, flares or other countermeasures which are emitted into the environment. The ECM payload simulator electrically verifies firing ability for any ECM dispensing system using a magnetic indicator which sets when the electrical signal required to fire an actual ECM payload device operates properly. The magnetic indicator can be viewed, tested and reset by a ground crew upon return of the aircraft to ground. The magnetic indicator has a parallel resistor so that the aircraft's arsenal inventorying device will indicate an unfired ECM payload device. An optional radio frequency (RF) transmitter may be substituted for the magnetic indicator to send coded transmissions to a radar site while in flight. Additionally, an electrical circuit may be added to measure amplitude and duration of the electrical firing signal and to prevent feedback into the ECM dispensing system. The ECM payload simulator can simulate both a single payload and dual payload ECM payload device. Filler material such as flexane.TM. may be is added to the simulator housing to make the weight of the simulator equal to an actual ECM payload device.

摘要: Embodiments include electromagnetic energy-based tissue treatment devices which comprise biometric sensors in combination with memory storing biometric data from authorized treatment providers, and methods of restricting use of the devices based on comparing biometric data from potential treatment providers to the stored biometric data from authorized treatment providers. Delivery of a treatment can be permitted when the biometric data from a potential treatment provider is found to match the biometric treatment data for an authorized treatment provider. The devices of the invention can further be configured to collect usage data and usage setting of the device, and usage data can be used in conjunction with biometric data to determine whether or not an authorized user has exceeded or will exceed a recommended treatment regimen.
