摘要: A ceiling vent diffuses air from a heating or cooling system in a laminar flow into a room for optimum dispersion in the room. Inlet air strikes a hinged vane within the vent. The vane deflects the air in a narrowing air way along a continuous concave curvature and extending all the way to the outlet opening of the vent. The vane responds to the force of air flow to narrow or enlarge the air way and, thus, regulate the velocity of air exiting the vent. A curved air catch associated with the vane directs the outflow of air and also laterally disperses air within the vent. The vent maintains a relatively constant velocity and diffusion of air into a room despite variable flow rates from the source of air.

摘要: The disclosure is a calibrated airflow measurement system for measuring air flow through a ceiling vent having a moveable vane. The airflow flows through the ceiling vent in laminar flow into a ceiling. This allows the moveable vane of the ceiling vent to be reversibly responsive to airflow through the room and allows for the vent to be calibrated to disperse a predetermined amount of air into the room.

The control system utilizes compressors of different sizes, including a series of compressors in which each compressor is double the size of the previous one. A control system chooses a possible combination of compressors to closely match the building or process cooling needs. The compressors are chosen so that the cooling capacity closely matches the building cooling needs, so that all of the compressors tend to run in a steady state fashion, and the comfort level of the building or the temperature stability of the process is increased.

摘要: The invention is a double duct changeover HVAC system, which uses two conditioned air sources to deliver air into two main duct systems. The two main duct systems are routed toward the exterior exposures of a building, and converge into a single duct which is routed to heating and cooling zones. Exterior exposure dampers control the mix of air so that the correct air temperature is sent to each exterior exposure. A damper at each heating and cooling zone controls the air flow into each heating and cooling zone, and VAV logic is used to deliver the correct air temperature and air flow to each heating and cooling zone of a building.

摘要: A duct device for insulated delivery of temperature controlled air. The device comprises an elongated, tubular member configured as a conduit for delivery of air and having a tubular wall fabricated of non-load-bearing insulative material. This insulated material includes at least one continuous gap formed into the tubular wall and extending along the tubular member. This gap is filled with a rigid binder which bonds to the insulative material and is capable of reinforcing the structural strength of the tubular member. This binder filled gap operates as a strut, which may be positioned longitudinally along the tubular member, or in other patterns such as a helical configuration. Reinforcing structure is also disclosed for the end sections of the tubular member, along with interconnecting structure.
