摘要: A hydrocarbon reformer comprising a plurality of sequential reforming stages. The first stage has relatively low catalytic activity to minimize heat buildup in exothermic catalysis, which may be achieved by having a short residence time and/or relatively low catalytic capability, such that not all of the fuel and air passing through the first stage is catalyzed, thereby preventing thermal excess in the first stage and consequent bed erosion. Exothermic combustion near the front edge of the reformer produces water and carbon dioxide, but little hydrogen, while consuming some of the hydrocarbon and oxygen. Endothermic reactions in the following stages produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide while consuming the remaining hydrocarbon fuel and oxygen in a combination of steam- and dry-reforming processes. In each succeeding stage, the catalytic capability is increased as are the length of the stage and residence time of the reactants.

摘要: An actuator (4) is connected, on one side, to a valve needle (3), and on the opposite side, to a hydraulic piston (6) pertaining to a hydraulic length compensator. A working chamber (5) is divided by a tight separating membrane (9), into an actuator chamber (10) containing the actuator (4) and a fluid chamber (11) which can be filled with the fluid to be dosed in a pressurized manner while the actuator chamber (10) and the hydraulic chamber (7) are filled with a hydraulic fluid. A base pressure can be produced in the hydraulic fluid by means of the pressure of the fluid to be dosed, which is transmitted through the separating membrane (9).

摘要: A static mixer including first, second, and third chambers arranged in flow sequence. Nozzles extend from the first chamber through the second chamber to matching orifices in a wall between the second and third chambers. A first fluid to be is forced through the nozzles, and a second fluid is entered into the second chamber. As the first fluid exits the nozzles, a Bernoulli aspiration effect is created at the nozzle outlet, entraining second fluid from the second chamber. The fluids are turbulently mixed, providing a homogeneous fluid mixture in the third chamber. Fluid pressure in the second chamber may be less than the pressure in either the first or third chambers. The mixer is especially useful in a solid oxide fuel cell system. A plurality of small individual Bernoulli aspirators may be packaged in a small mixer housing, providing excellent mixing with little pressure drop through the apparatus.

摘要: A fuel injector comprises a body having a longitudinal axis, a length-changing actuator that has first and second ends, a closure member coupled to the first end of the length-changing actuator, and a compensator assembly coupled the second end of the actuator. The length-changing actuator includes first and second ends. The closure member is movable between a first configuration permitting fuel injection and a second configuration preventing fuel injection. And the compensator assembly axially positions the actuator with respect to the body in response to temperature variation. The compensator assembly utilizes a configuration of at least one spring disposed between two pistons so as to reduce the-use of elastomer seals to thereby reduce a slip stick effect. Also, a method of compensating for thermal expansion or contraction of the fuel injector comprises providing fuel from a fuel supply to the fuel injector; and adjusting the actuator with respect to the body in response to temperature variation.

摘要: A method for producing a high-Tc superconductor having a strip shape and having at least one superconductive conductor core by forming a conductor initial product and annealing. The forming is in this case intended to include at least two flattening steps. A flattening step which follows a preceding flattening step is intended to result in the percentage thickness reduction in the cross section of the at least one conductor core being greater than that from the preceding flattening step. The strip conductor produced in this way advantageously has a plurality of conductor cores that are embedded in a Ag material and are composed of a bi-cuprate.
