摘要: A superconducting wire includes a substrate and a superconducting material layer. The substrate includes a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface. The superconducting material layer is disposed on the first main surface. Along at least a part of the superconducting wire in a direction in which the superconducting wire extends, the superconducting material layer is disposed to cover a side surface of the substrate in a width direction of the substrate and cover at least a part of the second main surface. A thickness of the superconducting material layer located on the first main surface varies along the width direction. A maximum thickness of the superconducting material layer located on the second main surface is smaller than a maximum thickness of the superconducting material layer located on the first main surface.

摘要: Superconducting cables employ one or more superconducting tapes wound around a former. A compact superconducting cable is configured using a former having a small diameter, e.g., less than 10 millimeters. A flexible superconducting cable is configured with a former made of a flexible material. Superconducting tape conductors are wound around the former, with the superconducting layer in compression on the inside of the wind turns of the wind, to prevent irreversible damage to the superconductor. A layer of solder is on the superconducting tape(s) or solder sheaths are wound between tape conductors in each layer. The one or more solder layers or sheaths are melted to cause the solder to flow within the structure, to bond some or all of the superconducting tape conductors together and form a mechanically strong cable with an enhanced level of electrical connectivity between tapes in the cable.

摘要: An oxide superconducting thin film wire includes a metal substrate, a laminate, and a Cu stabilizing layer. The metal substrate includes a supporting base material and a conductive layer located on the supporting base material. The conductive layer includes a Cu layer serving as an internal layer and a biaxially orientated surface layer. The laminate includes a buffer layer, an oxide superconducting layer, and a Ag stabilizing layer stacked on the metal substrate in this order from the metal substrate. The Cu stabilizing layer is formed so as to surround the laminate and the metal substrate. At least one of the Cu stabilizing layer and the Ag stabilizing layer is formed so as to be in contact with at least a portion of the conductive layer of the metal substrate and be electrically conductive with the conductive layer of the metal substrate.

摘要: There is provided a method for producing a substrate (600) suitable for supporting an elongated superconducting element, wherein, e.g., a deformation process is utilized in order to form disruptive strips in a layered solid element, and where etching is used to form undercut volumes (330, 332) between an upper layer (316) and a lower layer (303) of the layered solid element. Such relatively simple steps enable providing a substrate which may be turned into a superconducting structure, such as a superconducting tape, having reduced AC losses, since the undercut volumes (330, 332) may be useful for separating layers of material. In a further embodiment, there is placed a superconducting layer on top of the upper layer (316) and/or lower layer (303), so as to provide a superconducting structure with reduced AC losses.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a high temperature superconductor (=HTS) coated tape (20), with the following steps: preparation of a substrate tape (1), deposition of at least one buffer layer (2), deposition of an HTS film (3), deposition of a metallic protection layer (35) on the HTS film (3) and deposition of a metallic shunt layer (36) is characterized in that, prior to deposition of the metallic shunt layer (36), the partially prepared coated tape (10) undergoes a laser beam cutting in order to provide a desired tape form, wherein the laser beam cutting is applied together with a gas flow and/or a liquid flow (23). The method reduces the loss of critical current and reduces or avoids a deterioration of the critical temperature in a HTS coated tape due to tape cutting.

摘要: A method is specified for production of a superconducting electrical conductor which has a ceramic material as the superconducting material. A metal ribbon is formed around a multiplicity of flat strips of a mount which is coated with the superconducting ceramic material, running longitudinally to form a tube having a slot which runs in the longitudinal direction, and whose edges which rest on one another on the slot are welded to one another The tube which is closed by the welding process is then reduced to a diameter which corresponds approximately to the envelopes of all the strips which are located in the tube.
