The anchor is configured to secure the implant at an implantation site and defines a longitudinal axis. The bore is defined by the anchor and extends along the longitudinal axis. The compressible and expandable mesh is aligned along the longitudinal axis and defines a plurality of openings. The mesh is configured to compress along the longitudinal axis and expand from the longitudinal axis to engage surrounding bone or tissue at the implantation site to secure the implant at the implantation site.

摘要: An acetabular shell assembly according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a substrate and a screw hole plug. The substrate can have an inner surface, an outer surface, and a screw hole extending through the inner and outer surfaces and configured to receive a screw to fix the substrate to bone within an acetabulum. The screw hole plug can be configured to be selectively retained relative to the substrate.

摘要: A method for inserting an acetabular implant into the acetabulum of a patient. The method includes engaging a patient-specific surface of acetabular alignment guide to a complementary rim surface and periacetabular area of a patient. A plurality of alignment pins are inserted through corresponding alignment apertures of the acetabular alignment guide and into the periacetabular area of the patient. The acetabular alignment guide is removed without removing the alignment pins from the patient. An alignment adapter is coupled to an acetabular inserter over the alignment pins and an acetabular implant is implanted using the acetabular inserter.

摘要: A method for centering a stem of an implant at an implantation site. The method includes implanting at the implantation site the implant having a sleeve rigidly mounted to the stem of the implant, the stem extends through an interior area of the sleeve. The method further includes compressing the sleeve by applying force to the sleeve to expand a mesh portion of the sleeve outward from the stem and into engagement with sidewalls of the implantation site to thereby center the stem at the implantation site.
