摘要: A flexible bag material made of plastic material for the packaging of dry food products such as cereals wherein the plastic material is a multilayer film. The multilayer film comprises at least one high moisture barrier layer made of HDPE, a moderate oxygen barrier layer made of a blend of amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (PETG) and PE having a oxygen permeability of 400 cm3/m2/day or higher when measured at 23° C. and 0% relative humidity, and a peelable sealing layer. The flexible bag material is especially suitable for manufacturing an inner bag of a bag-in-box package having an outer rigid box made of cardboard, in particular recycled cardboard.

摘要: The invention relates to a device and method for treating diabetic patients on insulin therapy. More specifically, the invention includes apparatus for infusing insulin into a patient in an amount determined by the patient's carbohydrate intake, blood glucose level, and the amount of insulin calculated to be present in the patient at the time the therapy is to be administered. In one embodiment, an insulin infusion device having an on-board processor obtains a patient's blood glucose value from a remote sensor and receives input from a user indicating their recent meal intake. The insulin infusion device is securely and reliably connected to the remote sensor by employing biometric analysis to ensure that the person initiating the command via the remote sensor is also the intended person to receive treatment via the insulin infusion device.

摘要: A medical device pump with a housing with a compartment for removably receiving a cartridge containing a therapeutic agent, a conduit configured to operatively provide a fluid flow path for therapeutic agent to exit from the cartridge, a user activated delivery button, a trigger mechanism, and a mechanical pump mechanism. The trigger mechanism, user activated delivery button and mechanical pump mechanism of the medical device pump are configured such that the trigger mechanism is activated by a user fully activating the user activated delivery button. Moreover, such full activation generates mechanical power employed by, and sufficient for, the mechanical pump mechanism to pump a predetermined volume of therapeutic agent from the cartridge and through the fluid flow path.

摘要: Described is a drive mechanism for a drug infusion pump. In one embodiment, an in-line drive mechanism is provided that includes a motor operatively coupled to a lead screw, which is configured to engage a piston. The piston includes a cavity to receive the motor and the lead screw such that the lead screw and at least a portion of the motor are substantially contained within the piston cavity when the piston is in a retracted position. In one embodiment, at least a portion of the motor is also substantially contained within a cavity of the lead screw regardless of whether the piston is in the retracted or extended position. The configuration of the piston, the lead screw and the motor results in a more compact drug delivery device.

摘要: An external infusion device enclosed in a multiple-housing casing. Enclosed within an outer wall, a first housing encloses a reservoir of liquid and a drive mechanism. A second housing encloses a pump and electronics for controlling the drive mechanism to dispense the liquid from the reservoir according to a selected pattern. A separate third housing encloses a battery or batteries. The first and third housings are vented to atmosphere via primary vents with hydrophobic barriers. The second housing is vented to at least one of the first and third housings via a secondary vent with a hydrophobic barrier. The hydrophobic barriers allow passage of air, and allow pressure equalization, but prevent passage of liquid. Liquid entering one housing is prevented from flowing into the other adjoining housings.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to correction of erroneous touch data on a touch sensor panel. Erroneous touch data may occur when a user is touching locations on the touch sensor panel but fails to be in good contact with another part of the device including the touch sensor panel. These erroneous readings may be statistically compensated for. A capacitance value that combines various external capacitances that may cause erroneous results can be calculated. Then, if necessary, received touch data can be modified to take into account the external capacitance. Accordingly, improved accuracy is provided for determining touch event(s) on a touch sensor panel.
