The ambulatory medicament device can have a locked state that restricts modification of at least one control parameter. The ambulatory medicament device can have an unlocked state that allows modification of at least one control parameter. The ambulatory medicament device can accept a user input of a security code that is validated against a passcode to enter from the locked state to the unlocked state.

摘要: A system and method for operating an analgesia administration system is disclosed. A control device is associated with a drug delivery device and configured to receive a first user input including at least a portion of a fingerprint of a patient, together with a second user input corresponding to a request to administer medication. The portion of the fingerprint is compared with previously-stored fingerprints to determine an identity of the patient and, in response to receiving the second user input and determining that the patient is an authorized user, one or more sensors are used to obtain one or more signals indicative of a state of the patient. If the state of the patient satisfies a set of medication delivery criteria, the drug delivery device is caused to administer a predefined amount of medication to the patient.

摘要: A cavity authentication system for verifying a feature of a user using at least one acoustic signal, including an orifice element, including at least a signal opening and a reflection opening, an acoustic wave generator (AWG), an acoustic wave sensor (AWS), at least one output waveguide, at least one input waveguide, a processor and a memory, the AWG for producing at least one acoustic signal, the AWS for receiving at least one reflection of the acoustic signal, the output waveguide for transmitting the acoustic signal to the user, the input waveguide for receiving the reflection of the acoustic signal, wherein the processor is configured to analyze the reflection and to compare the analyzed reflection with the retrievable cavity authentication data and to generate an indication whether the analyzed reflection matches the retrievable cavity authentication data above a pre determined threshold.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for monitoring the status of an ambulatory medical device and the health condition of a subject that receives therapy from the ambulatory medical device. The ambulatory medical device can have a touchscreen display user interface to receive input signals from a user and display alarm conditions associated with the status of an ambulatory medical device or health condition of a subject. The disclosed methods and systems can determine whether status information received from a monitoring system interface satisfies an alarm condition for the ambulatory medicament device or for the subject. If the status information satisfies an alarm condition, the touchscreen user interface can display one or more alarm status indicators corresponding to the alarm condition. The user can activate a therapy change interface on the touchscreen display and modify a control parameter of the ambulatory medical device that controls the therapy delivery to the subject.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for switching control of an ambulatory medical device from an application executing on the ambulatory medical device to a safe version or a new version of the application without interrupting therapy provided by the ambulatory medical device to a subject. The ambulatory medical device can maintain copies of a safe version and a new version of the application. The disclosed systems and methods can execute the new version, while the prior version of the application continues to execute, determine whether a minimum set of operating conditions are satisfied by the new version, and switch control of the ambulatory medical device from the prior version to the new version. The systems and methods can also automatically revert to the safe version of the application case the current version is malfunctioning without interrupting therapy provided to the subject.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for managing access to therapy controls of an ambulatory medicament pump that provides therapy to a subject using safe access levels associated with the therapy controls. The therapy change controls may enable modification of the corresponding therapy control parameters. The disclosed systems and methods can determine the eligibility of a subject receiving therapy from the ambulatory medicament pump or a user of the ambulatory medicament pump, for a safe access level and provide access to the corresponding therapy change controls. The ambulatory medicament pump may provide access to the therapy change controls upon receiving an access signal. In some cases, the ambulatory medicament pump may receive a time-based passcode and provide access to the therapy change controls upon receiving a matching passcode from the user.

The method of an embodiment of the invention includes the steps of capturing one or more video sequences of a user administering medication employing the inhalable medication administration apparatus, storing the captured one or more video sequences, capturing one or more audio sequences of the user administering medication employing the inhalable medication administration apparatus and storing the captured one or more audio sequences. At least one of the stored video sequences and at least one of the stored audio sequences are then analyzed to confirm that the user has properly administered the medication.

In one embodiment, a substance dispensing apparatus, comprising a mouthpiece having a recess customized to match with an intended user's unique dentition; a user verification mechanism configured to determine whether the intended user's unique dentition is positioned within the recess; and an actuator coupled to the mouthpiece and in communication with the user verification mechanism, the actuator configured to dispense a substance from a reservoir coupled to the mouthpiece in response to the user verification mechanism determining that the intended user's unique dentition is positioned within the recess.
