摘要： A touch input device and method for a portable device that is capable of inputting various user commands with diversified touch events detected on a touch screen is provided. A touch input method for a mobile terminal having a touch screen may include displaying a plurality of representative images representing content objects on the touch screen, selecting at least one representative image in response to a first command designated for a first touch event on the touch screen, and executing a second command designated for a second touch event on the touch screen. The second touch event may be defined by a movement direction, speed, a lift position of a touch, and the representative images selected by the first command.

A first execution screen of a first application is displayed, and an input signal is detected for activating a second application. A second execution screen is displayed corresponding to the second application in response to the input signal. The second execution screen includes at least one of a first intermediate image obtained by downsizing an image contained within the first execution screen, a second intermediate image obtained by downsizing an image contained within the second execution screen, and a task window containing at least the downsized first and second intermediate images in a sequential order.

摘要： A keypad touch user interface method and a mobile terminal using the same are disclosed. If a touch is generated by a finger operation on a keypad installed with a touch sensor, the touch sensor detects the touch and a control unit identifies the type of the touch. According to the type of the touch, the control unit controls the display of a pointer on a display unit or displays an option window on the display unit. According to the result of identifying the type of the touch, if a new touch is generated by a finger in the state that another finger is touching a position on the keypad, the option window is displayed as with a right-click function of a mouse in a personal computing environment.
