    摘要: A method for generating data for driving a display panel is provided in which first compensation data of (N+k) bits, corresponding to grayscale data of N bits, is generated, wherein values of N and k are natural numbers. A first gamma curve is applied to the first compensation data of (N+k) bits. Second compensation data of (N+k) bits, corresponding to the grayscale data of N bits, is generated. A second gamma curve is applied to the second compensation data of (N+k) bits. The first compensation data or the second compensation data are selectively output and converted into analog data signals. The analog data signals are output to a data line. Accordingly, the first compensation data and second compensation data includes a multidomain structure which improves display quality. A data driving circuit and a display device including the data driving circuit for performing the method are also provided.

The display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels respectively including a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. The timing controller includes a first compensation unit which receives grayscale data corresponding to the unit pixels and generates first compensation data of the grayscale data using offset values of first sample compensation data sampled from a first gamma curve. The data driver includes a second compensation unit which generates second compensation data of the grayscale data using second sample compensation data sampled from a second gamma curve and the first compensation data. Accordingly, the first and second compensation data comprise color compensation data, which improve image quality. A method for driving the display panel of the display apparatus is also provided.

    摘要: A gamma voltage generator for a liquid crystal display (LCD) capable of removing residual images by compensating a gamma voltage is presented. The gamma voltage generation apparatus adjusts the common voltage by the kickback voltage for the intermediate gray level, and tunes the gamma voltages other than the intermediate gray level gamma voltage. The adjustment of the gamma voltages other than the intermediate gray level gamma voltage is achieved in such a manner that the difference between the intermediate gray level kickback voltage and the kickback voltage at one of the gray levels other than the intermediate gray level is equal to half of the difference between the sum of the two inverted gamma voltages representing the intermediate gray level gamma voltages and the sum of the two inverted gamma voltages corresponding to the selected gray level.

A display panel includes a plurality of pixels having a first switching elements and a second switching element that is coupled to one of clear lines and one of data lines. A data driver provides a picture signal to the data lines. A scan driver provides a first control signal to the scan lines so that the pixel may be charged with the picture signal, and provides a second control signal to the clear lines so that the picture signal charged in the pixel may be discharged via the second switching element. Accordingly, display characteristics of a moving picture of a display device having the scan driver may be enhanced.

The liquid crystal display includes an LCD panel including a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of adjacent data line groups having an even number of data lines disposed on the LCD panel intersecting the gate lines, and a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix and each having a switching element connected to the gate lines and the data lines; a gate driver successively applying gate ON voltage to the gate lines to turn on the switching elements; and first and second data drivers provided on opposing sides of the LCD panel and to which the data line groups are alternately connected, the first and second data drivers applying grey voltage corresponding to color signals to the data lines via output terminals. The method of driving the LCD includes the steps of applying gate ON voltage successively to the gate lines, and applying grey voltage to the data lines in units of lines through the first and second data drivers.
