Abstract: A method is provided for enhancing video images in a medical device. The method includes receiving a first image frame and a second image frame from an image sensor. First image sub-blocks are generated by dividing the first image frame. Second image sub-blocks are generated by dividing the second image frame based on the first image sub-blocks. Histogram data of the first image sub-blocks is generated. Histogram data of the second image sub-blocks is generated based on the histogram data of the first image sub-blocks. A histogram enhanced image frame is generated based on the histogram data of the second image sub-blocks. A video image stream is generated based on the histogram enhanced image frame.

Abstract: A method is provided for enhancing video images in a medical device. The method includes receiving a first image frame and a second image frame from one or more image sensors. The first image sub-blocks are generated by dividing the first image frame. At least one curve to the first image sub-blocks are associated based on one or more look-up tables. A target in at least one of the first image sub-blocks is identified. Second image sub-blocks are generated by dividing the second image frame. At least one curve is associated to the second image sub-blocks based on the one or more look-up tables. The target is identified in at least one of the second image sub-blocks. Histogram enhanced images of the target in the first image sub-blocks and the second image sub-blocks are generated. A video image stream is generated based on the histogram enhanced images of the target.

Abstract: A medical device includes a sensor, a processor, and non-transitory computer readable medium storing imaging instructions. The sensor captures a first raw image into a first frame of raw pixel values including a plurality of first pixel values that represent pixels of a first color and a plurality of second pixel values that represent pixels of a second color. The sensor captures a second raw image into a second frame of raw pixel values including a plurality of third pixel values that represent pixels of the second color and a plurality of fourth pixel values that represent pixels of a third color. The processor convolves the first frame of raw pixel values with the second frame of raw pixel values to generate a first extrapolated frame of pixel values in a YCrCb format and creates a processed image from the first extrapolated frame of pixel values.

Abstract: A system for determining characteristics of tissue within a body of a patient may include a medical device. The medical device may include a distal end configured to be advanced within the body of the patient; at least one aperture at the distal end; a laser emitter operable to emit monochromatic light out from the distal end via the at least one aperture and onto target tissue; and at least one photodetector array. The at least one photodetector array may be configured to: receive light incident on the at least one aperture that is one or more of scattered by or reflected from the target tissue; and generate Raman spectroscopy image data based on monochromatic light incident on the at least one aperture, the Raman spectroscopy image data including an array of intensity values.

Abstract: A method of generating a color image using a monochromatic image sensor. The method includes sequentially illuminating a surface in a plurality of colors, one color at a time. The monochromatic image sensor captures a plurality of image frames of the surface based on the plurality of colors. The plurality of image frames are identified, and at least one feature in the target of the plurality of image frames is highlighted. Color intensities of the plurality of image frames are normalized. A color intensity map of the target for each of the plurality of image frames is generated. A correlation score is determined by comparing each color intensity map of the plurality of image frames. The color image is generated based on the correlation score.

Abstract: A medical system that includes a shaft having a distal end configured to be positioned at a target site, a first light and a second light positioned at the distal end, and a computing device communicatively coupled to the first and second light. The processor adjusts emittance from the first light, in response to the first illumination measurement being different than a first threshold, and emittance from the second light in response to the second illumination measurement being different than a second threshold.
