Abstract: A buoy system for treating cardiac valve regurgitation comprising a movable plug having atrial and ventricular ends, wherein a through-hole passes from the atrial to the ventricular end, wherein during systole, the plug travels toward a cardiac atrium, wherein during diastole, the plug travels into a cardiac ventricle; a tether having atrial and ventricular ends, wherein the tether passes through the through-hole of the moving plug, wherein the atrial end of the tether projects into an atrium, wherein the atrial end of the tether includes a cap to engage a delivery tool; at least one distal anchor located in the ventricle, wherein the distal anchor is coupled to the ventricular end of the tether, and wherein the system is percutaneously delivered and optionally recaptured via catheter and recapture tool at the cap of the tether, respectively.

Abstract: A method of making a vascular occlusion device may include cutting a tubular member to form an expandable frame including a first hub integrally formed with the expandable frame adjacent a first end of the expandable frame, and a plurality of longitudinally-oriented struts extending in a direction opposite the first end; heat-setting the expandable frame to define an expanded configuration of the expandable frame; sliding a constrainment member over the plurality of longitudinally-oriented struts, the constrainment member being formed using additive manufacturing technology; fixedly securing the constrainment member to the plurality of longitudinally-oriented struts to define a second hub of the expandable frame; and cutting the plurality of longitudinally-oriented struts adjacent the constrainment member and opposite the first end relative to the constrainment member.

Abstract: An occlusive medical device such as a vascular implant includes a terminal portion including a first plurality of strut segments that are each joined together at a distal end thereof to form a closed end of the frame, an intermediate portion including a second plurality of strut segments, the second plurality of strut segments including a greater number of strut segments than the first plurality of strut segments, and a main portion including a third plurality of strut segments, the third plurality of strut segments including a greater number of strut segments than the second plurality of strut segments. The occlusive medical device may have an expanded configuration in which the second plurality of strut segments and the third plurality of strut segments together form a plurality of cells.
