New well completion systems with slotted stations are utilized to provide through-casing signal-transmission and/or reception. Hydraulic isolation between the interior and the exterior of the completion is provided by pressure barrier means at the slotted stations. The completions permit temporary or permanent monitoring of changes in reservoir saturation with the use of mobile sources/sensors. The completions also form part of a system for accurately placing a well within a desired distance and orientation relative to an existing well.

    摘要: A method for drilling a well includes applying a current across a drill collar that surrounds an internal magnetometer. The current travels across the drill collar and along one or more other current paths to return to the drill collar. The method also includes using the magnetometer to measure magnetic fields due to the current being applied across the drill collar and the current across one or more other current paths while the drill collar is disposed at a first angle of rotation and rotating the drill collar to a second angle of rotation. The method further includes measuring the magnetic fields using the internal magnetometer while the drill collar is disposed at the second angle of rotation and determining a relationship between the current across the drill collar and a portion of the magnetic fields due to the current across the drill collar measurable by the internal magnetometer.

The ornament comprises a frame construction with an open interior and a frame member perimeter. The centerline of the ornament separates the left side from the right side of the ornament, whereby the frame members and corresponding connecting apexes of the frame member periphery are mirror images of one another across the centerline of the ornament. As the ornament spins, it projects a changing image from an onlooker's perspective, which changes throughout the ornament rotation and based on the rotation speed thereof.

A method in accordance with an exemplary embodiment may include drilling a new well in a field having at least three completed wells using a drilling tool that includes a magnetometer. The method may further include driving current on a first pair of the at least three completed wells and then driving current on a second pair of the at least three completed wells, wherein the current is driven on each of the first and second pairs in a balanced mode. The method may also include measuring a direction of a first magnetic field generated by the current on the first pair using the magnetometer, measuring a direction of a second magnetic field generated by the current on the second pair using the magnetometer, and determining a location of the drilling tool relative to the completed wells based on the direction of the first magnetic field and the direction of the second magnetic field.
