摘要： A marking device is controlled to mark a media sheet with halftone dots selected from a set of image halftone dot representations. The marking device is controlled to mark a monitored surface with halftone dots selected from a set of control halftone dot representations to form test patches of different nominal marking densities. Measured marking densities are acquired using a density sensor for the test patches marked on the monitored surface. The set of control halftone dot representations is updated based on the measured marking densities and the nominal marking densities.

Systems and methods may further include repeating the setting, charging, measuring and storing steps for the first charging device for at least one additional voltage level; and determining at least one parameter of the first charging device based on the stored measured charge values for the first charging device for each voltage level.

The machine comprises: a moving photoreceptor; a means for storing a target tone reproduction curve; and, a means for updating a current tone reproduction curve LUT. The means for updating comprises a means for scheduling the depositing and measuring of the test patches; a means for depositing halftone test patches on the photoreceptor; a means for measuring the density of the halftone test patches and generating a measured tone reproduction curve; a means for computing differences between the measured tone reproduction curve and the target tone reproduction curve; a means for fitting the differences to a mathematical function; a means for calculating a new tone reproduction curve LUT based on the target tone reproduction curve and the fitted differences, including a means for limiting differences between the new tone reproduction curve LUT and a current tone reproduction curve LUT to a predetermined maximum magnitude; and a means for loading the current tone reproduction curve LUT with the new tone reproduction curve LUT.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to an imaging system, and more specifically, a method and apparatus for accurately predicting toner usage and hence toner dispensing requirements in an imaging system. The toner concentration control system maintains toner concentration in a developer structure, which is connected to a dispenser containing toner. The toner concentration control system includes a toner mass estimator providing a toner mass estimate of the toner mass in the developer structure to be applied to the photoreceptor; a feed forward dispense unit receiving the toner mass estimate and transmitting a feed forward dispense command based on the toner mass estimate; a toner concentration target adjusted by toner age, toner break-in and temperature in the developer structure; a feed back dispense unit receiving the adjusted toner concentration target and transmitting a feedback dispense command; and a total dispense unit receiving the feed forward dispense command and the feedback dispense command, and outputting total dispense command to the dispenser, which dispenses the toner to the developer structure in accordance with the total dispense command.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to an imaging system, and more specifically, a method and apparatus for accurately predicting toner usage and hence toner dispensing requirements in an imaging system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a toner concentration control system for maintaining toner concentration in a developer structure, which is connected to a dispenser containing toner. The toner concentration control system comprises: a sensor, reading the toner concentration; means for determining a toner age correction of toner concentration read by the sensor based on toner age of the toner in the developer structure; means for adjusting a toner concentration target based on the correction; and means for generating a feedback dispense command based on the adjusted toner concentration target to dispense toner into the developer structure to maintain the toner concentration in the developer structure.

A capability is included in a color image forming device store and/or update multiple sets of special process parameter setpoints defining a plurality of CRDs each of which may be identified and associated with a specific color in order that requests to print out-of-gamut colors may be satisfied routinely as exceptions to a nominal gamut based on a nominal set of stored setpoints when a CRD is selected and the setpoints associated with that CRD are input for reference by the color image forming device on a temporary basis.

摘要： A method for calibrating in situ a plurality of printheads in an imaging device has been developed. Firing signals operate a plurality of printheads to form ink test patterns on an image receiving member. Reflectance measurements of light reflected from the test patterns and optical density measurements for a portion of the patterns formed by only one printhead in the plurality of printheads are used to adjust the firing signals and enable the printheads to print within a predetermined range about an average reflectance value and a predetermined optical density.
