    Abstract: A display counter for use in supermarkets and like establishments for temporary storage, cooling and displaying of foodstuffs has a case with a hollow upper section having a pivotable front panel at the customer side and a horizontal counter top. The front panel can be pivoted by one or more fluid-operated motors with assistance from an attendant and through the medium of hinges which are mounted on forwardly extending arms of the skeleton frame of the upper section of the case. The top marginal portion of the front panel is held between discrete or integra rails of the hinges so that its exposed side is normally flush with the upper side of the counter top. One of the rails has a portion which extends rearwardly and overlies the adjacent portions of the arms and of the counter top to seal the interior of the case from the surrounding atmosphere when the front panel is held in its operative position at the customer side of the counter. An attendant can assist the motor or motors to pivot the front panel to a raised position in which the interior of the upper section of the case is accessible at the customer side for restocking and/or cleaning.

    Abstract: A framework comprises bars coupled together by a coupling carried by some of the bars (carrier bars). The other bars have undercut longitudinal slots which receive coupling ends of the coupling. The coupling includes a bearing member on which is mounted an eccentric member which is rotatably accessible from one face of the bar, and a holding member which can be displaced longitudinally and laterally in response to rotation of the eccentric member. The holding member has a hook-shaped coupling end which, in the coupled position, engages in the undercut longitudinal slot in the other bar. The holding member comprises a tongs-shaped leaf-spring comprising a pair of arms joined at one end by a web. The leaf-spring surrounds the bearing member. The holding member includes a recess for housing the eccentric member. The outer end of the bearing member has a wedge portion which extends as far as the longitudinal slot in the other bar when the bars are connected. An inside surface of the leaf-spring is engaged by the eccentric member whereby the arms of the leaf-spring can be forced against the wedge to spread the arms apart and into locking engagement with the slot of the other bar.

    Abstract: A device for the swiveling movement of a sheet is described. A stationary bearing part supports an articulated part in a swivelable manner. The articulated part supports the sheet and is movable about a substantially horizontal swivel axis. The sheet is accordingly movable between a lowered position and a raised position, the direction of this movement being determined by a vertical swiveling plane. Energy accumulators, e.g., pneumatic springs, serve as auxiliary lifting means for raising the sheet. These energy accumulators have two connection ends which are loaded in opposite directions and determine the effective direction of force of the energy accumulator. For the purpose of an advantageous arrangement of the device which economizes on space, it is proposed that the energy accumulator be arranged with its effective direction of force substantially transverse to the swiveling plane of the sheet. The two connection ends of the energy accumulator are constructed as three-dimensionally acting rolling joints.

    Abstract: A modular display system is disclosed which exhibits wall elements having vertical interior profiles arranged in the lateral corner regions. The vertical profiles are connectable among themselves by horizontally oriented profiles, and the face side of which exhibits a covering. In order to render such a system particularlly versatile for demounting and use, it is provided according to the invention that the vertical profiles exhibit, in addition to a first contact surface oriented at right angles to the extension of the wall element for the horizontal profiles, a second contact surface oriented in the direction of extension of the wall element for accommodating connection of identical profiles oriented transversely to the latter. Exterior formally rigid covering parts are attachable to the profiles oriented in the direction of extension of the wall element. The vertical profiles exhibit outwards adjacently to the second contact surface a housing channel oriented in the direction of extension of the profile. Guide strips opening inwards protrude from the member region of the vertical profile which connects the first and second contact surfaces.

    Abstract: A profiled member for clamping plate-like elements, including a slot that accommodates the edge of a plate-like element. A clamping strip having a wedge-shaped cross-section is disposed in this slot, and the clamping strip is pressed against the plate-like element via pressure screws. The clamping strip is disposed in an enlarged slot portion that is provided with a guide surface for guiding the wedge-shaped clamping strip. So that the clamping action is particularly reliable, secure, and easy to operate, it is proposed that the direction of abutment or impact of the pressure agent that acts upon the clamping strip extend essentially parallel to the guide surface, and that the wedge point of the wedge-shaped clamping strip face the base of the slot. In the enlarged slot portion, the guide surface is disposed at a greater and greater distance from the plate-like element as one proceeds in the direction toward the opening of the slot.
