摘要： An image forming apparatus that is capable of flexibly coping with charging in various protocols. A user information storage unit allows registering relating user information related with a protocol. A reception unit receives a print job that includes the relating user information and that is requested to execute according to a protocol from an external apparatus. A determination unit determines whether the relating user information in the print job is registered in the user information storage unit. A storing unit stores the print job without starting to print when the determination unit determines that the relating user information included in the print job is not registered. A registration unit registers the relating user information included in the print job to the user information storage unit, when printing of the print job stored is started according to an instruction from a user who logged in to the image forming apparatus.

摘要： An image forming apparatus and method that prevents an image based on a file attached to an electronic mail from being repeatedly printed includes receiving an electronic mail from a mail server, printing an image based on the file attached to the received electronic mail, and deleting the electronic mail from the mail server after the image is printed. If the electronic mail cannot be deleted from the mail server, identification information corresponding to the undeleted electronic mail is stored, and the image based on the file attached to the electronic mail corresponding to identification information coinciding with the stored identification information is not printed.

摘要： In a data transmission apparatus, when user information for a user of an external mobile terminal coincides with user information managed by the data transmission apparatus, data transmission is readily performed based on transmission settings received from the mobile terminal. This gives rise to an issue that security cannot be ensured although the use of data transmission is limited. The data transmission apparatus uses a user authentication function to set not to transmit data transmitted from the external mobile terminal. With such a configuration, data transmission can be prevented when a limitation is made on data transmission processing by using user authentication.

摘要： When receiving an electronic mail from a mail server, an MFP generates received information regarding the received electronic mail and prints an image attached to the electronic mail on a sheet together with the generated received information. A user sets in advance a sheet size used for reception print via a setting screen for a reception print size. When the sheet size is set, the MFP determines whether a length of a side parallel to an order of a character string of the received information to be printed is a predetermined length or longer and performs control to prevent a size determined as not having the predetermined length or longer from being set as a sheet size to be used for printing the image attached to the electronic mail together with the received information.
