Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating power by a hydrogenerator which can be attached to a portion of a towed marine streamer. A hydrogenerator includes: a stator configured to impart a spin to water which flows through the stator, wherein the stator is inline with and fluidly coupled to a propeller; the propeller configured to receive water which has passed through the stator, wherein the propeller is connected to a generator; the propeller configured to spin; and the generator configured to output power for use by components attached to the towed marine streamer.
