Abstract: Example telecommunications wall outlets (200) include a base structure (220) and a stationary spool structure (237) extending from the base structure (220). The spool structure (237) includes a hub portion (248) extending between a first wall (238) and a second wall (250). A length of fiber optic cable (190) is coiled about the hub portion (248) between the first and second walls (238, 250). A cover (260) is also provided which covers at least a portion of the spool structure (237). The cover (260) includes a port (266) aligned over the hub portion (248) through which the length of cable can be dispensed from the spool structure (237) by unwinding the cable (190) about the spool structure (237) such that the port (266) revolves around the spool structure (237). Additional embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A cable distribution system is provided wherein a feeder cable with one or more feeder fibers is received by a distribution device or box. The feeder fibers are terminated to a fiber optic connector. Customers can directly connect to the connectors of the feeder cable through an adapter and a mating connector for a point-to-point connection. Alternatively, a splitter input can be connected to one or more of the connectors of the feeder cable, such as through a pigtail extending from the splitter, wherein the splitter splits the signal as desired into a plurality of outputs. The outputs of the splitters can be in the form of connectors or adapters. Customers can connect to the splitter outputs through a mating connector (and an adapter if needed).

Variations on the cable fixation device include a fixation element (130, 218, 320) which can slide and/or rotate about a vertical rod; a plate element (304) which includes a plurality of fixation projections extending between two rods; and a plurality of uprights (208) integrally formed with the base and including forwardly and rearwardly projecting projections. The base (102, 202) and the fixation projections (126, 212, 316, 318) can be made from molded plastic.

Abstract: An extendable telecommunications patch panel (10) is disclosed. In one aspect, the patch panel can include a plurality of interconnectable connection parts (100) for holding telecommunications connectors (12), such as adapters. Each connection part (100) may be provided with features that allow the connection parts (100) to be interlocked with each other to form the extendable patch panel (10). In one aspect, a first connection feature (122) can be located on a connection part first side (102) and a second connection feature (124) can be located on a connection part second side (104). The first connection feature (122) can be configured to interlock with the second connection feature (124) of an adjacent connection part (100). The connection part (100) may also be provided with an adapter (150) that allows the connection parts (100) to be connected in a staggered formation to result in a staggered patch panel (10).

Abstract: A cable element attachment system (300) attaches cable elements (80) to an entrance/exit location (140) of an enclosure (100). The system includes a base (600) and a clamp (700). The base attaches to the entrance/exit location and includes at least one slot (630), first gripping features (672), and a first attachment feature (664). The slot extends to an open end (632). The clamp includes second gripping features (772) positioned opposite of the first gripping features. Each of the gripping features grips the cable elements. The clamp further includes a second attachment feature (764) that attaches the clamp to the first attachment feature. The entrance/exit location may include a seal arrangement (500) that seals the cable elements to the entrance/exit location. The gripping features may deform the cable element both around its circumference and along its path and thereby retain the cable element.

The fiber termination point arrangement (100) has a rear input port that enables a cable or fiber to enter the fiber termination point arrangement (100) from the rear (e.g., at the cable spool) without extending beyond the boundaries of the fiber termination point arrangement (100) when routed from the wall outlet.
