Abstract:
A device for supporting a human body in a lying-down position, notably in a prone position, is made up of at least one shoulder support module and at least one pelvis support module. The shoulder support module and the pelvis support module are made up of a first portion that comes into contact with the human body, the first portions forming a pneumatic cavity having a valve, and the first portion of the shoulder support module being kept at a pressure of less than 0.04 bar underneath the weight of the human body.

Tire (1) comprising a carcass ply (2) that connects two beads (5) by way of two sidewalls (3), said carcass ply (2) being surmounted radially on the outside by a crown reinforcing zone (10) comprising a plurality of reinforcing strips (12, 14) disposed in at least two layers and coated in an elastomeric composition (13, 15), the mean overlap between the strips of the two layers being greater than 40%, the reinforcing strips (12, 14) being made of a thermoplastic film having a modulus greater than 0.9 GPa and preferably greater than 2 GPa in the main direction and in the transverse direction.

The reinforcing element (34) has a cross-section with a flattened overall shape having an aspect ratio greater than or equal to 5 and extending in a main direction (Z1). It comprises a lateral edge (46) made of a polymeric composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, the lateral edge (46) extending in a general direction substantially parallel to the main direction. The reinforcing element (34) is such that R=(Uc−U1)/Uc>11%, where Uc is the average value of the microhardness of the reinforcing element (34) measured in its central part, and U1 is the average value of the microhardness of the reinforcing element (34) measured at its lateral edge (36). The lateral edge (46) does not have any ridges.

A radially expandable building drum (1), intended for the manufacture of an adapter for mounting a tyre on a rim, comprises a central axis (X-X′), and an assembly zone coaxial with the latter and comprising a first set (10) of segments (100) and a second set (20) of segments (200), all the segments being arranged circumferentially around the central axis, in which the segments (100) of the first set (10) and the segments (200) of the second set (20) face one another axially. The external circumferential face of each segment (100, 200) comprises a groove (103, 203) for accommodating a bead wire, and the said drum passes, in the said assembly zone, from a retracted first position of substantially cylindrical shape into an expanded second position of substantially frustoconical shape when the segments (100) are driven by a first cam (300) and the segments (200) by an adjacent second cam (400).

A reinforcing element, having a cross section with a flattened overall shape and extending in a main direction and comprising at least one lateral edge made of a polymeric composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, the lateral edge extending in a general direction substantially parallel to the main direction is treated by heating at least a part of the lateral edge, during which at least a part of the lateral edge is subjected to a plasma flow so as to raise the temperature of the part of the lateral edge above the melting point of the thermoplastic polymer.
