Abstract: This application relates to a separator roll and a preparation method thereof. The separator roll includes a separator body, the separator body having a head end and a tail end in a length direction and being constructed to be capable of winding in the length direction to form a separator roll with the tail end as a roll core. A warning coating is provided on the separator body, the warning coating being configured to be spaced from the tail end by a first preset length. In this way, the warning coating provides a warning in advance for the position of the tail end of the separator body on which the warning coating is located.

Abstract: This application relates to the field of battery technologies, and in particular, to a binder and a preparation method thereof, and a separator, electrode assembly, battery cell, battery, and electric apparatus containing such binder. The binder includes a core layer structure and a shell layer structure provided on surface of the core layer structure, where the core layer structure includes a polyvinylidene fluoride polymer, and the shell layer structure includes a polyacrylate polymer. Polyvinylidene fluoride is a homopolymer with a crystallinity of about 50%, resulting in insufficient adhesion force. Therefore, in this application, the polyacrylate polymer is used to encapsulate the polyvinylidene fluoride polymer to obtain a core-shell-structured binder, so that the crystallinity of the polyvinylidene fluoride polymer in the core-shell-structured binder is improved, and adhesion performance of the core-shell-structured binder is improved, thereby increasing adhesion force between a separator and an electrode plate via the binder.

Abstract: Provided a separator, a preparation method thereof, and a secondary battery, a battery module, a battery pack, and an electric apparatus containing such separator. The separator includes: a substrate and a coating applied on at least one surface of the substrate, where the coating includes 40 wt % to 90 wt % first organic particles, 2 wt % to 15 wt % pressure-sensitive binder, and optionally 0 wt % to 50 wt % second organic particles. The first organic particles include an organic polymer and an inorganic substance. The pressure-sensitive binder includes an organic polymer and a plasticizer. The separator has good ionic conductivity and adhesion performance at room temperature, is not adhered under a pressure of 1 MPa or below and is significantly adhered under a pressure of 2 MPa or above, which can significantly improve structural stability and ionic conductivity of an electrochemical device while satisfying requirements for yield rate of production and kinetic performance of a battery cell.

Abstract: This application relates to a polyolefin-based film, including polyolefins with different weight-average molecular weights; where thickness of the polyolefin-based film is ≤6 μm, and the polyolefin-based film has a machine-direction shrinkage of ≤2% and a transverse-direction shrinkage of ≤1% at 115° C./1 h. This application uses polyolefins with different weight-average molecular weights as raw materials, enabling the resulting polyolefin-based films to have an ultra-thin thickness and a low thermal shrinkage. The reduction in thickness of the polyethylene-based film can improve the energy density of the cell to some extent, and the reduction in thermal shrinkage can improve the short-circuit test pass rate of the bare cell, enhancing the safety performance of the cell. In addition, the reduction in thermal shrinkage helps improve the heat resistance of the polyolefin-based film, delaying the thermal failure of adjacent cells when thermal runaway occurs in a cell.
