摘要: Embodiments of a filter for electromagnetic radiation are disclosed herein. The filter includes a first glass-ceramic substrate having a first refractive index, a second glass-ceramic substrate having the first refractive index, and a first region disposed between the first glass-ceramic substrate and the second glass-ceramic substrate. The first region has a second refractive index that is less than the first refractive index. Further, the second glass-ceramic substrate is arranged substantially parallel to and spatially disposed from the first glass-ceramic substrate. The filter transmits at least 70% of electromagnetic radiation within a band of frequencies and reflects at least 80% of electromagnetic radiation outside the band of frequencies. The band of frequencies is located within the frequency range of 20 GHz to 100 GHz.

摘要: Embodiments of a sensor are disclosed herein. The sensor includes a ceramic substrate having a first major surface, a second major surface opposite to the first major surface, and a thickness measured from the first major surface to the second major surface. The thickness is from 10 μm to 200 μm. A piezoelectric layer is disposed on the first major surface of the ceramic substrate, and the piezoelectric layer has a thickness of 10 μm or less. At least one electrical contact is disposed on the piezoelectric layer or between the ceramic substrate and the piezoelectric layer or both on the piezoelectric layer and between the ceramic substrate and the piezoelectric layer. A wearable device including such a sensor is also disclosed herein as well as a method of manufacturing same.

摘要: A glass-ceramic substrate includes a continuous glass phase; a magnetizable component; and an antimicrobial component. The substrate can further include a discontinuous glass phase disposed in the continuous glass phase. The magnetizable component and the antimicrobial component can be disposed in the discontinuous glass phase. The substrate can include 45 percent to 60 percent SiO2; 3 percent to 6 percent P2O5; 3 percent to 10 percent B2O3; 4 percent to 8 percent K2O; 7 percent to 15 percent Fe2O3; and 15 percent to 25 percent CuO. A ratio of the mole percentage of CuO to Fe2O3 in the substrate can be 1.3 to 3.0. The magnetizable component can include one or more of delafossite and magnetite. The antimicrobial component can include one or more of cuprite and metallic copper. The substrate can exhibit a magnetic permeability of greater than or equal to 1.02μR at a frequency of 10,000,000 Hz.

The glasses disclosed herein are low cost, flat glasses that have high throughput for the laser damage and etching process used to create through glass vias (TGV). TGV generated using the silicate glasses and processes described herein have large waist diameters (Dw), which is a desirable feature with respect to producing glass articles such as interposers.
