摘要: Hashing and pattern matching are used in an information processing system to process incoming messages from a network such as an Ethernet-based network. Using hashing and pattern matching increases the efficiency of message acceptance and rejection without increasing software-based processor tasks. A hash function and a pattern matching function are performed on a message received by an information processing system, and the message is selectively accepted based on at least one of a hash result and a pattern matching result. The incoming message can be searched for the existence of patterns and the absence of the patterns. The incoming message can be searched for the existence of multiple patterns. The results of pattern matching can be used not only for acceptance and rejection of messages, but also for other post-receipt tasks such as selective storage of incoming messages according to identified relative priorities or absolute criticality of messages having particular pattern matches.

摘要: One or more small plates is provided for the fixation of the scapholunate interval between scaphoid and lunate. In one embodiment, a plate is fixed to the bones with fixed angle fasteners to allow complete healing and remodeling of the scapholunate ligament. In another embodiment, the system includes two small plates for the scaphoid and lunate joined by a central element. In yet another embodiment, the system includes two bone anchors for the lunate and scaphoid, also joined by a central element. The central element is flexible, and/or the plates or anchors are movably joined to the central element. The central element in each of these embodiments acts like an artificial ligament and permits more normal motion of the wrist bones while maintaining the scapholunate interval at its correct anatomical dimension.

摘要: A fracture fixation system is provided for a fracture of a head portion of a long bone which has subchondral bone defining a convex articular surface, and particularly the proximal humerus. The system includes both smooth pegs and pegs having a threaded shaft. The shaft of the threaded shaft pegs having both smooth and threaded portions. Threaded shaft pegs of different lengths all have the same length threaded portion, but different length smooth portions. A drill bit and depth gauge for use with the system are also provided. A method for drilling holes is also provided.
