Abstract: A fuel module for pumping and filtration of a fuel in a fuel system includes a flow housing, and each of an electrically powered pump, a first cartridge filter, and a second cartridge filter in sealed, direct engagement with the flow housing. The fuel module is applied in a low pressure fuel circuit feeding fuel to a high pressure fuel circuit for pressurization to an injection pressure. Electronic closed loop control techniques for the pump are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system includes an ECM configured to control at least one subsystem of a machine, a plurality of sensors communicatively coupled to the ECM, the plurality of sensors configured to sense at least one identification device coupled to a fluid filter associated with the subsystem of the machine. A memory stories instructions that, when executed by the ECM, cause the ECM to cause a sensor of the plurality of sensors to sense the at least one identification device, receive a signal from the sensor based on the sensor sensing the at least one identification device, identify a coupling of the fluid filter to the machine based on the signal; and identify at least one physical characteristic of the fluid filter based on a code defined by electromagnetic energy generated by the at least one identification device. The code includes at least one component defining the at least one physical characteristic.

Abstract: A fuel filter monitoring method includes receiving pressure signals that are indicative of a pressure drop across at least one fuel filter of a fuel supply system configured to supply fuel to at least one fuel injector of an internal combustion engine and receiving a condition signal indicative of a condition of a fuel supply system, the condition signal being generated by one or more of a geographic location sensor, an altitude sensor, and/or a fuel temperature sensor. The method includes estimating a remaining life of at least one fuel filter of the fuel supply system based on the pressure signal and the condition signal and outputting a notification indicative of the estimated remaining life.

Abstract: A filter identification system is disclosed. The filter identification system may include an identification component disposed in a filter mount configured to hold a set of filters that includes a first filter and a second filter. The identification component may include a sensor system that may include a first sensor configured to provide a first output signal corresponding to a state of the first sensor, and a second sensor configured to provide a second output signal corresponding to a state of the second sensor. The sensor system may be configured to provide a single output signal that is based on the first output signal and the second output signal and indicates a combined state of the first sensor and the second sensor.

A thermoactuator is coupled to the valve and exposed to a flow of fluid from the fluid supply conduit. The working fluid in the fluid system may include engine oil.

Abstract: A rocker arm assembly for an engine valve system includes a rocker arm for actuating an engine valve, a stop, a biaser, and a swing lock attached to one of the valve end or the cam end of the rocker arm and defining a pivot axis, and including an actuating surface. The actuating surface is rotatable between a stopped orientation and an idled orientation, and the biaser biases the swing lock towards the stopped orientation where the swing lock contacts the stop and traps the swing lock between the rocker arm and one of an engine valve or a cam. The swing lock is movable in opposition to a bias of the biaser toward the idled orientation to deactivate the engine valve.
