    Abstract: A filter adapter for a fuel injector is disclosed. The filter adapter may have a filter housing. The filter housing may have a first connection end and a second connection end. The filter housing may also have a through bore extending through the filter housing between the first connection end and the second connection end and forming a filter cavity. The filter adapter may also have a first filter positioned in the filter cavity and including a first plurality of openings and a second filter positioned in the filter cavity and including a second plurality of openings. The first connection end may have a first connector configured to mate with a fuel outlet of a first fuel system component. The second connection end may have a second connector configured to mate with a fuel inlet of a second fuel system component.

    Abstract: A filter for a fuel injection system includes a body that defines a longitudinal axis, a first end face, a second end, an outer surface extending between the first end face and the second end, an inner surface defining an inner chamber closed at the first end face and open at the second end. The body also defines at least one perforated portion formed in the outer surface extending from the outer surface to the inner surface, at least one slot extending axially along the outer surface. The slot is open and is in fluid communication with the first end face and defines an edge along the outer surface. The edge provides fluid communication between the slot and the perforated portion. Additionally, the edge and an inlet channel of the fuel injection system are adapted to define a first filtration zone. The perforated portion defines a second filtration zone.

    Abstract: A fuel injector is disclosed herein. The fuel injector includes an injection line, a control valve, a check rod, a control cavity, a high pressure inlet, and a drain line. The injection line fluidly connects a fuel inlet to an injection cavity. The control cavity is adjacent an upper end of the check rod distal to the injection cavity. The high pressure inlet fluidly connects the injection line to the control cavity. The control valve blocks the flow of fuel from the control cavity to the drain line when the control valve is in a closed position and does not block the flow of fuel from the control cavity to the drain line when the control valve is in an open position.

    Abstract: A fuel system includes a plurality of fuel injectors connected to a common drain conduit, and a plurality of isolation valve assemblies each positioned fluidly between the common drain conduit and one of the plurality of fuel injectors. Each isolation valve assembly includes a valve member movable between a closed position to block an injection control valve assembly in the fuel injector from the common drain conduit, and an open position, and a biaser biasing the isolation valve member toward the closed position such that fuel injectors are isolated from fluid pressure pulses produced by nozzle check actuation to limit cross-talk among the fuel injectors.
