Abstract: The invention provides an electrochemical discharge-assisted micro-grinding device for micro-components of brittle and hard materials. The device includes a micro-grinding tool, grinding fluid, a workpiece, an auxiliary electrode, a processing groove, and a pulsed DC power supply; the processing groove is filled with grinding fluid; the micro-grinding tool, the workpiece, and the auxiliary electrode are immersed in the grinding fluid; the micro-grinding tool is composed of a conductive grinding tool base, an electroplating layer, and insulated superabrasives. The micro-grinding tool is connected to the negative electrode of the pulsed DC power supply; the grinding fluid is composed of H2O2, Na2CO3, EDTA-Fe-Na, and deionized water; the workpiece material is brittle and hard; a large number of micro structures need to be produced on the surface of the workpiece.

Abstract: The present application discloses a single-point diamond dresser for a grinding wheel based on acoustic emission online monitoring, which includes a support module, an anti-interference module, a compression cooling module and an acoustic emission online monitoring module. An acoustic emission sensor monitors the dressing state of the grinding wheel online; a damping sheet and a damping interlayer greatly reduce external noise interference; a high pressure coolant causes an upward elastic deformation of an elastic spacer and the damping sheet, enlarging a contact force between the acoustic emission sensor and the core and moreover improving a sensitivity of the acoustic emission sensor; the coolant flows through the coolant passages in the core to cool a dressing area; current limiting passages, pressure relief cavities and perforated pressure-relief plates limit flow and reduce a pressure of the coolant, reducing the interference of the coolant on the grinding wheel dressing.

Abstract: Disclosed are an orderly-micro-grooved PCD grinding wheel for positive rake angle processing and a preparation method thereof. A PCD film is deposited on the outer circumferential surface of a wheel hub, and a plurality of microgrooves with high depth-width ratio and micro-grinding units with positive rake angles are orderly provided on the outer circumferential surface of the entire PCD film. The method includes: depositing the PCD film on the outer circumferential surface of the wheel hub by a HFCVD technique; and manufacturing a plurality of microgrooves with a high depth-width ratio (circumferential width: dozens of micrometers; depth: hundreds of micrometers) and an axial length that is equal to the thickness of the grinding wheel and a plurality of micro-grinding units with positive rake angles on the outer circumferential surface of the entire PCD film by water-jet guided laser technique, where the micro-grinding units and the microgrooves are orderly arranged.

Abstract: This paper describes an invention involving an electrochemical discharge-enabled micro-grinding process for micro-components of silicon-based materials. The specific machining method is described below. A micro-grinding tool and an auxiliary electrode are respectively connected to the negative and positive electrodes of a pulsed DC power supply. When the current flows through the loop, an electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) occurs at the micro-grinding tool in the grinding fluid, which generate multiple hydrogen bubbles. The bubbles coalesce into an insulating gas film and separate the micro-grinding tool from the grinding fluid; when the critical voltage is reached, the gas film is broken down and an electrochemical discharge occurs accompanied by discharge spark; under the action of the discharge spark, the surface material of the workpiece in the discharge-affected region is directly ablated to generate a heat-affected layer (HAL), namely, physical modification.

Abstract: An orderly-micro-grooved PCD grinding wheel includes a wheel hub, a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) film, a number of micro-grinding units and a number of microgrooves. The PCD film is deposited on an outer circumferential surface of the wheel hub. The PCD film is processed by a water-jet guided laser device to form the microgrooves with high depth-width ratio and micro-grinding units with positive rake angles on the entire outer circumferential surface of the PCD film. An axial length of each micro-grinding unit and an axial length of each microgroove are equal to a thickness of the grinding wheel, respectively. The microgrooves are spaced apart by the micro-grinding units.
