    摘要: A system monitors cable interface connections in a network. An individual cable interface connection includes a connection between a cable and an associated device in the network. The monitoring system includes a plurality of individual interface controllers for monitoring an associated plurality of individual cable interface connections. The plurality of individual interface controllers include a first interface controller for automatically, acquiring device type identification data from a second interface controller monitoring a connection between a cable and an associated device in the network. The device type identification data is acquired via the cable and the first and second cable interface connections at the ends of the cable. The device type identification data supports identification of the device associated with the second cable interface connection. The first interface controller further automatically compiles a map including data indicating devices in the network and associated device type identifiers.

    摘要: An apparatus for reducing noise in an electrical system includes a first isolation stage for a patient monitoring system that provides a first power transformation and a first isolation barrier to current flow. The patient monitoring system including a portable patient monitoring device, a charging apparatus that charges the portable patient monitoring device and a power supply that provides power to the charging apparatus and the first isolation stage is connected to the power supply. A second isolation stage is electrically connected between the first isolation stage and the charging apparatus. The second isolation stage provides a second power transformation and a second barrier to current flow, the second isolation stage reduces noise in the electrical system caused by stray currents.

    摘要: A system monitors cable interface connections in a network. An individual cable interface connection includes a connection between a cable and an associated device in the network. The system includes a plurality of individual interface controllers. The plurality of individual interface controllers monitor one or more cable interface connections in a network. This plurality of interface controllers include a first interface controller for automatically acquiring device type identification data from a second interface controller which is monitoring a connection between a cable and an associated device in the network. The device type identification data is acquired via the cable and the first and second cable interface connections at the end of the cable. The device type identification data supports identification of the device associated with the second cable interface connection. The first interface controller supports communication between individual interface controllers in the network on a first communication link. The system further includes a second communication link, different from the first communication link, being conveyed via the plurality of cable interface connections in the network.

    摘要: A cable detection system, includes a source of an input electrical AC signal for coupling to a first lead pin of a cable connector. A detector is coupled to a different second lead pin of the cable connector. The detector detects an electrical AC output signal derived by capacitive coupling of the input electrical AC signal occurring within a cable incorporating first and second leads corresponding to the first and second lead pins. The detector further enables a determination of whether the cable is connected to the cable connector in response to an amplitude dependent characteristic of the detected AC output signal.

The system includes a sensor for detecting orientation of the device and providing a device orientation representative signal indicating whether the device is in a first orientation or a second orientation substantially different to the first orientation.
