    摘要: A system facilitates printing of microtext. A processing component allows a user to create one or more microtext characters, wherein the characters are output as a data packet. An SRE code store receives and associates one or more SRE codes with the data packet, each SRE code is representative of a bit pattern, wherein the bit pattern is a grid of bits that are filled to create a particular pattern. A font bank receives the one or more SRE codes from the SRE code store and defines such codes via a font. A raster image processor receives the font from the font bank, decodes the font and outputs instructions to print the microtext.

    摘要: A document printing method includes receiving a print job of electronic document data representing a document including a security character string with at least one character defined in the electronic document data in terms of a security mark creation font. The security mark creation font is a scalable outline based font, wherein the security character string is defined with a selected security effect, and wherein the security mark creation font provides an indication of the selected security effect without implementing the security effect. An SI Font is selected that corresponds to the security mark creation font of the at least one character of the security character string. The SI Font includes a bitmap representation of the at least one character of the security character string. The SI Font is suitable for printing the security character string with the selected security effect. The step of selecting an SI Font includes selecting the SI Font based upon a unique name of the SI Font that corresponds to a name of the security mark creation font, and also includes selecting the SI Font based upon at least one other attribute of the security mark creation font. A font substitution is performed in which the selected SI Font is used to define the security character string in the electronic document data in place of the security mark creation font. After the font substitution, a hard copy output of the document is printed as defined by the electronic document data including the substituted SI Font. A system is disclosed for performing the document printing method.

A font substitution is performed in which the selected SI Font is used to define the security character string in the electronic document data in place of the security mark creation font. After the font substitution, a hard copy output of the document is printed as defined by the electronic document data including the substituted SI Font. A system is disclosed for performing the document printing method.

    摘要: The present invention relates to the expedient supply of differential gloss or other correlation mark text into a document image via a font definition, particularly as when desired in the employ of rendering variable data. A font character is selected and sub-sampled. The sub-sampled result is then scaled up into a full size result. A first halftone cell having a first anisotropic structure orientation is selected and applied to the full size scaled font result while a second halftone cell having a second anisotropic structure orientation is applied to the surrounding background around the full size scaled font result to create a gloss font or other correlation mark character. This full gloss font character or correlation mark character is then stored as a font representation as callable by the digital front end of a printing apparatus.

    摘要: The present invention relates to the segmentation of an image into a main area and a image segment for variable data differential gloss image control. A single color is selected. Two or more different color definitions are created by combining the selected single color with two or more halftones having anisotropic structure characteristics which are significantly different in orientation to each other while remaining identical in density. By alternatively assigning the color definitions to the image segment in accord with the variable data content, a variable data differential gloss image may be superimposed within an image having reduced data processing and storage requirements.
