    摘要: Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensing technique which provides high specificity and accuracy has been an important method for molecular sensing technology. In the past, in order to affix 45 nm gold film onto glass or silicon substrate, several nanometers of chromium (Cr) or titanium (Ti) has been used as adhesive layer for the attachment of Au film. However, the existence of Cr or Ti thin film deteriorates the performance of SPR sensor due to their characteristic optical absorption. Our experimental results have confirmed the uses of conducting metal oxide, specifically, ITO and Zinc Oxide (ZnO) can be used to replace Cr or Ti for better performance in terms of SPR resonant properties (resonant angle and HMBW) and sensitivity enhancement for 3 to 15 times than traditional ones. It would contribute significantly to the SPR applications in both biosensors and gas sensors.

The connector includes a metal housing having a top wall and a pair of side walls defining a receiving space therebetween for receiving a memory card inserted into the receiving space through an insert opening at a front end of the housing. At least one grounding portion projects outwardly from one of the side walls and includes a base plate for surface connection to a ground pad on the printed circuit board. The grounding portion includes a positioning tab projecting downwardly from the base plate for insertion into a positioning hole in the printed circuit board to properly position the base plate on the ground pad on the circuit board.

    摘要: A memory card connector includes an insulative housing having a rear terminal-mounting section and at least one side wall section extending forwardly from one end of the rear section and defining a card-receiving space therebetween. First and second switch terminals are mounted on the housing and have first and second contact portions, respectively. A third switch terminal is mounted on the housing and has a pair of third contact portions engageable by the first and second contact portions of the first and second switch terminals, respectively, in response to inserting a memory card into the card-receiving space. The third switch terminal includes an elongated base having opposite ends, with at least the opposite ends of the base fixed to the housing. A pair of contact spring arms are cantilevered from the opposite ends of the base, whereby the opposite ends form a pair of fulcrums for flexing of the contact spring arms. Free ends of the arms form the third contact portions of the third switch terminal.

    摘要: A system and method for measuring wind velocities are provided. A laser wind velocimeter with a radiation source includes a fiber laser. All optical signals, transmitted and received, are conveyed by optical fibers. An amplifier amplifies a source laser, which is then transmitted to one or more transceivers. The one or more transceivers, each projecting along a different axis, and each with a single optical fiber input/output interface act as both the transmission device to focus the radiation at a target region, and as the receiving system for collecting reflected radiation. The one or more transceivers transmit radiation to the target region. A portion of the reflected radiation collected by the receiving system is analyzed to determine the Doppler shift, which can me used to measure wind velocity.
