    摘要: A distributed control system is provided having a plurality of control modules operative to control one or more output devices. A control module includes a first enclosure that houses a plurality of control terminals and a second enclosure that houses a controller for controlling an output device. A maximum voltage of the first enclosure is less than a threshold voltage level, and a maximum voltage of the second enclosure is greater than the threshold voltage level. A safety circuit of the control system includes a plurality of circuit segments connected in a series configuration to the control modules.

    摘要: A universal mounting for a bi-metallic thermometer comprising a case connector secured to the underside of the thermometer case and a stem connector at the upper most end of the stem. The case connector is telescopingly received within the stem connector and is rotatably adjustable. Means are provided in association with the stem connector to lock the case connector in any desired rotative position. Accordingly, the case, pointer, shaft and bi-metal coil may be rotated to any desired position for easy reading of the calibrated scale, or if necessary, removed from or replaced in the stem connector.

    摘要: The mode of operation in which a port is configured to operate may be selected so that the manner in which the port will interpret a loss of signal on a receive fiber may be specified. In an immediate mode, the port will interpret a loss of signal on a receive fiber as an indication of a fault on the transmit fiber (or interfaces associated with the transmit fiber) and will immediately shut its transmit interface down. In a multiple cycle detection mode, the port will not immediately interpret a loss of signal on a receive fiber as an indication of a fault on the transmit fiber, but rather will begin monitoring the receive fiber to look for a specified loss of signal pattern on the receive fiber. In this mode the port will interpret a repetitive loss of signal on the receive fiber as an indication of a fault on the transmit fiber. By providing a mode selector, the manner in which the ports are configured to operate may be adjusted individually, as a group, or globally.

    摘要: A method of measuring the instantaneous shaft velocity of a rotary machine having a shaft with a plurality of circumferentially spaced markers thereon, comprises the steps of sensing the passage of the markers with at least two circumferentially spaced sensors mounted adjacent the shaft to generate pulses in response to the passage of the markers; for each of the sensors continually deriving from the pulses and estimated spacing signals representing an estimated spacing of the markers, a set of angular velocity signals representing the instantaneous shaft angular velocity at a given point in time t.sub.i ; and varying the estimated spacing signals on an iterative basis to attempt to match the sets of angular velocity signals derived from the respective sensors. The described method allows a more accurate ICAV (Instantaneous Crankshaft Angular Velocity) waveform to be produced than was possible using prior art techniques.
